We really don't often have much in common. I have been a member of a few different groups. We usually end up sitting around a coffee shop bitching about the religious, and arguing about what to do about it. It gets old pretty quick.

The American Atheists are doing well. The community of non believers is growing all the time. It is a great thing that the free thinkers of the world are unifying .Finally a great big chunk of the world's population are turning away from fear based thought systems and standing up against religion and it's corrupt dealings. Reason and logic are coming back into the mainstreem with authors like Sam Harris and Richard Dawkins and Daniel C Dennett taking the lead and prompting people to read more about logic and science. Bertrand Russell would be proud that his works are once again being read by millions. So yes, Atheists do have a large library of facts and groups dedicated to what is real. This includes the understanding that if there is a god and it can be shown thrue reason and logic and without having to rely on any sort of faith to show it. Then it would be examined and accepted for what it is.

Other than rejecting the idea of a deity, atheists have nothing in common. There's not really much to do at an atheist gathering other than toss around a football or eat potato salad.

I'm an agnostic myself, but I do not want to be associated with the likes of Ms. O'Hair. She was a really repellant person and ended up hurting the cause of atheism more than she helped...

Ha, I created my own religion, in which I harnessed the truths of the world, rather than some bag of lies a retarded man created, that we now call Christianity. It is a branch of Scientology. I would propose Scientology to be a subculture
