Ego. Actually there is no such thing as an atheist. An atheist "knows" there is no GOD. Assuming that you could know even 5% of everything in the universe, that leaves 95% that you DO NOT know. Therefore, you should be able to say that it is possible that God could exist.
Therefore, you are not an atheist but an agnostic. They say that they do not know if there is a God. More honest opinion of the universe.
Christians KNOW there is a God. When you read the Bible, with an open mind, God will manifest Himself to you.
When Christ is accepted, you will know with an assurance that God is real. A Christian has a hard time explaining this to an unbeliever. It is like trying to explain what a ribeye steak tastes like to someone who has never eaten meat.
My request to you is that you read the Bible with an open mind, start with the New Testament and allow God's Spirit to enter into you and fill your heart. Give it a try, what have you to lose?

I really don't understand that either. I am an atheist, and it's just so ridiculously logical of us to ignore such a huge body of evidence that cannot be demonstrated to exist.
I am so guilty of that. It must be why I am considered so....special?
