My grandfather is always trying to tell me i am his favourite,saying not to ever talk to my sisters,and saying they said this/that,and not to talk or bother giving presents to my grandmother(his wife)constantly,but just ignore the comments.lately he has started doing the same to my sister,and that she is now better than me,and says that i should be like her,and is constantly degrading me and constantly putting me down and saying i dont know anything and i should be like mysister.why is he constantly trying to cause trouble between family?

You are right to some extent because this kind of behavior ruins the family. But i think you can give benefit of doubt to your Grandfather that he has become old and when people become old they become rude to you-why? Because they have faced all life difficulties and now they don't want to face any difficulty. The thing which he says that you don't know nothing is because he has spent all his life and now he thinks that what is right in his point of view is right for you which may be wrong for you. Try to live with this attitude and don't be so disappointed because it happens in life and that what all life is about. Try to ignore his this attitude and make him happy and with soft words try to remind him his mistakes may be he realize one day. Good Luck

it may be caused by medicine he is taking? if thats not it he is probaly very lonely and selfish and wants each of you to fuss over him.or he might just be mean.good luck and dont let this come between you and the rest of the family.talk to the others and maybe you will find a solution!
