The benefits include:

Novelty. Well maybe not any more because 1 in 5 American women don’t want kids.
More money.
Freedom. You can sleep in, pursue your dreams, and never have to worry about getting a baby setter.
Vacations are easier.
Better career opportunities.
Travel (I have been to 8 countries)
Peace and quiet.
No adolescent arguments.
Nobody is after your money when you die.
Your friends will envy you. Well, not openly, but in private they will.
The peace of mind, knowing you did the right thing.
Better health.
You will never make supid statements like, "I'll never trade my children for all the money in the world".
You don't have to bother with things like, making a will.
Other peoples rotten kids will stay away from your house.
For women, you don't loose your identity, and just become someones mom.
I own things that are not broken.
I own glass things that do not have fingerprints on them.
I can put somthing somewhere, and it will still be right where I left it six months from now.

I know all this becuse I am 40 and have no children. My girlfriend is 36, and the same.

BTW: You will still be lonely, when you get old. Just ask the old lady, across the street, about how often her kids visit her.

The benefits are that you get to stay the exactly the same as you are right now, no 3am feedings, no diapers, or your house looking like a bomb of primary colors went off in it. I never wanted kids now I have a 10month old and even thought being a mom is the hardest thing I have ever done I would nothing differently.

Maybe you have more time for yourself, a little more savings, but that"s just about it.. When you get older, at the end of the day, you'll be going home to an eerily quiet house that holds no happy memories. . No memories of going home to a home filled with laughter, or of a face of your own child looking up at you with innocence and so much trust, believing in you that his life will be ok just by being with you. And when he grows up & has his own life, thats an accomplishment that will make you feel good til the day you die.. I'm a single parent with 5 kids and theyre reaping awards in school, healthy & happy. And thats the kind of happiness money just cant buy.. Hope you'll have this kind of happiness too. = )

yeah there are benefits of not having children like more money and freedom n yeah you do loose part of who you were but you realize who you are! the love n feelings that you have for your child is an unbelievable thing. you don't understand it until your a parent! a child makes everything new again. you get to see life through their eyes, you never thought you could look at somethings so simple like a stick, a rock, or just water n see the most amazing things about them. their smallest accomplishments become your greatest! i could g on n on about what a child brings to your life but those of us who are so luck to have them in our lives don't need to hear it we know!

i contemplated not having children for a long time. the reasons were that i had only been married for two years, and my husband and I work opposite schedules, and we tend to like to go places at odd hours. also we like to spend our time and money on games, movies and anime.

i changed my mind. I am now 12 weeks pregnant with our first child, and I couldn't be happier. I know we'll have to make a lot of changes, but i think in the long run it will be worth it.

I would say being able to just go out with friends at the spur of the moment. Not having to get a luggage of 4 days just to be prepared if you kids going to have an accident or need clean clothes.

You can do whatever you want when you want and you don't have to find a sitter and take a million bags with you that contain things to entertain the kiddos. You can have romantic moments with you significant other at any moment and in any area of the house without worrying about interruptions. You can get a full nights rest.
I do miss all that but I would trade my son for any of it. He is my sunshine and brings so much joy to my life. He gave me meaning and purpose and is the inspiration for everything I do.

All the money you make is yours, you get a full night's sleep, you don't need to find a sitter when your friends are going out on a weekend, and if you don't feel like making dinner you can have take out. You also get to sleep in late on the weekends and nobody to tidy up after!!! Woooo Hoooo!!!

Happier marriage for sure. If you get divorced it is a lot easier emotionally and financially. Procreation sucks because once you get old your kids will start controlling you
