From their language, to the way that they treat women, to their pride taken in committing violent acts, to their hate of police, to their drug use, and to their pathetic lack of education, I hate every thing about most rappers. I understand that there are Christian rappers, and rappers with good morals but this question is about those who fit the criteria above.

I agree! I went through a phase in sixth grade where I listened to that and it didn't bother me, but the more I listened to rap, the more I realized how degrading they were on women, and how they blamed the police on arresting them because they are racist. And they don't realize that people of every race get arrested? I wish there would be a law where they are not allowed to rap about certain things. Plus, what's frusterating is it does not take talent yet they somehow make enough money to afford all their "bling"? I'm 14 and it is dissapointing that this kind of thing is what our culture is so wrapped up in. So, the answer to your question is, no you are not the only one who hates mainstream rap.

Rap is "Crap" without the "C".
I am shocked at the number of seemingly mild mannered women at my work place who listen to cRAP. They LOVE it.
I personally hate it. However, as much as I'd like to say that cRAPPERS are talentless thugs, I must admit that it does require some talent to create a good cRAP song. I've tried it and it doesn't come easy...but then again...I'm just a lil' white boy with virtually no blackness in my genes. Christian cRAP can be tolerable - like KJ-52. He's great! But I, like you, hate the cRAP mentality. So, no....you are not alone, my friend.

I used to like rap in the 1990 when it was scarey. When I heard a song and there was anger and it sounded like they were talking about me! That was Good rap!
The writing was on the wall of the heyday passed and gone when Emenem became big.

I haven't heard Christian rap, so I have no opinion about them. The ONLY rap I'll listen to (until I decide I like Christian rap) is Weird Al's stuff.
Say whatever the hell you want, Eminem. "Couch Potato" is a LOT better than your "music". *lol*

I generally don't like any rap. But I will admit that I did enjoy some of Cypress Hill's earlier stuff. I just don't listen to it anymore, and nothing I've heard recently makes me want to change that.

Sometimes the tune ain't bad. Nor the rhythm. Black people's words are what the problem is. They never learned to use them well. Maybe its the thoughts they think whenever they try to speak.
Jazz music has always been pretty cool-no words, please. Now that's Art.
Bill Withers the exception-'Use Me' was alright. 'Ain't no Sunshine' was a whiner. "Two of Us'?-too cutesy. (he tried to please too hard)
Stevie wasn't half bad. I think he may have had time to learn English, being blind and all.

I totally agree with you. I don't understand why people want to listen to this stuff. But Gospel rap reaches people that do listen to this type of music, so God bless them.

I can't stand any kind of rap. (Except for one song years ago by Eminem--something about 'trailer park girls'---LOL, I don't even know the name of the song. Don't know why, but I loved that song. It was rap, right? lol)
