My bf is about to get deployed for the second time...I need to know whats going on over there. He always tells me media feeds us mostly bullshit. Does anyone know if things are getting better or worse over in Iraq? Ever since I found out he was going I've been so upset because he's leaving for an entire year. I haven't even thought of the fact that his life will be in constant danger while hes away. Please help me. I don't know what to think!?!

Just smile and stand behind him babe.. He is a Hero and that is all you need to think, dont worry about what is going on.. It will only make it worse, narrow you tv to local channels only for the news it is not as heart breaking.. Yeah he is going somewhere were he is in danger, but as long as you are standing behind him and telling him you love him daily he will be better at his job and happier to come home alive.. Kiss kiss and thank you both, you for being a good Military girl and him for being my kids Hero..

Whether or not, or to what extent, the media feeds us BS, is a matter of opinion. But stats can't be fudged. Over 3000 dead including 100 last month alone.

Pray for him. While he's away, spend as much time with friends and family as possible, don't let yourself be alone any more than is necessary. And tell people you love and trust how worried you are. Don't keep it in.

It depends on the point of view - the increase in troops appears to be working according to most reliable sources even liberal media. Unfortunately for those of us with soldiers, increases the strength of the fight increases the danger for the soldiers. Have faith & try to think good thoughts.
He would have a much greater chance of being murdered in LA, NY, Chicago, & Wasington DC according to the stats.
As a mother of a soldier, I know the worry but support my son in his service of country.
Take care !

From what I've seen over the last 8 months, they're getting better, but you certainly wouldn't know that watching "the" news.

Its true, sometimes the media does feed alot of bs so try to not watch the news and just believe and trust what your bf says.
