not upstate lol i heard a great sation i think its in the 8.s but i cant remember it exsactly i have it hot keyed in my car its great plays alot of metal

You might have been listening to 89.5 wsou - but they suck. and you won't hear them in all of nyc - only toward jersey really. Q104.3 plays classic rock during the day and metal at night for a few hours. PLJ (95.5) plays mostly light rock and contemporary stuff. But yeah - Region 1 (NYC area) is the most crowded spectrum for radio in the country. Just scan around and you will find something.

Q104.3 is classic rock. 92.3 used to be Krock, but I don't know what it is anymore.
