that god does not feel the same as humans do. that god does not have the same ristrictions of emotions that we do. and because of this we can't fully comprehind him. well if thats true then what makes us think he feels the love the same as we do or for that matter at all. maybe we are just a big exspierament that he is detached from emotionaly and just wants to see how we react with threats of hell and damnation. and if we are so single minded that he can manipulate us with fear. those who can look at it objectively and with a scientific view will understand my question. those who can't let me try and help, think of god as a scientist with curiosity not as a supreme a loving being that loves you no matter what you do. (which is the father figure that is often preeched about.)

i do not believe jesus and god are one in the same. i believe that jesus was a great man who tried to bring good to man kind and suffered for the men he loved but i don't believe he is god. so i don't believe that the fact that jesus showed love shows that gods love is the same as ours.

The god that you have described as a scientist is more like Q. The God who is Ultimate Reality is different. The Christian view is that God made us in His image which means that we have within us his blueprint. And when Jesus came to live among us he came to show us what God would be like as a human being. We do not understand the 'essence' of God. We do not even understand the essence of our closest friend. We can see the 'energies' of God working in the world. In this way we can understand something of the Love that God has for us.

The better way to understand Him would be to stop speculating and reach out for scriptures. We can't understand Him with our tiny limited brains, but if we actually start practicing devotional service to Him, He Himself will reveal all the knowledge about Him in our heart. It's a bit of a mystical process, but very scientific at the same time.

Jesus is God and He proved that God does have the same emotions as us. He cried over the loss of a friend or the destruction of a city. Psalm 5 says God hates (all workers of iniquity) and Psalm 59 says God laughs at those who make fun of Him.

I disagree with the premise.
We are made in God's image, according to his likeness. That includes our emotions as well. Not just our physical appearance.
And the hell and damnation that you refer to began with a man named Dante. But that's a topic for a whole other conversation.

Remember emotions are human, and ego. People needed to make Spirit like themselves to be able to understand. I don't believe that any of what we feel here is on the other side. I think it's not emotionless but the things we worry about will not matter there.

You have a wrong perception of God. He does not manipulate, threaten, cause fear, or any of the other non Biblical stuff you allude to. Just ask Him to reveal Himself to you- love Him. Don't figure it out because He is not natural. God is spirit and those that worship Him must do it in spirit and truth. John 4 vs??

We are made in His image. The amount of love we feel for our newborn baby is comparable to a speck of a speck of a speck of dust on the floor beneath our shoes, to the love He has for each new soul that comes to Him as Father. His love is un-measurable, unconditional and everlasting. The Bible says that we are the apple of His eye. His love is not blind but reveals the truth. People who accept salvation do so because they realize His love for them, not in fear of going to hell.

Jesus was manifest in the flesh to comprehend what we all go thru in this body of flesh I thought...
Hebrews 2:9 Jesus was made to taste death for every man.
Hebrews 2:17,18 shows that Jesus suffered just as we all do in this body of flesh, and he was tempted as we all are tempted, so he would be able to succor them that are tempted...

We were made to His image, so we reflect His emotions. We are able to love and we are able to know what is right and what is wrong. Most of us also like to be justice done, just like He does. It is just that He feels the same emotions that we feel, to a GREATER level. We hate what's bad and He does too. We know how to love, but He loves to a greater extent.
