unfortunately we cant choose which body parts to lose the weight off - it just has to be overall weight loss.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Wow! I want to congratulate you on doing all you can to keep yourself healthy and fit as developing fat around the abdomen is something that women cannot really avoid. I am 38 and the mother of two trying to get rid of the fat that accumulated when I was pregnant with them so I have been researching books and talking to others to find what would be helpful for me.
You said you noticed the fat two years ago so it is important to see if any new stresses developed for you around that time because stress can create weight gain. Also do you belong to a gym like the YMCA? A personal trainer or a more challenging excercise routine may be what you need. The Y has a muscle works program that targets your abs and it is very intense, Something like this or even Pilates is great for working the stomach muscles . I hope this helps you.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Get started today!

Being close to your age, I've noticed those body changes too. It's so much more difficult to lose the weight around the middle as you get older. Recent studies have shown that walking or running helps get rid of abdominal/waist fat. Overall it's not possible to spot lose weight, but you can spot tone, and walking seems to be a great exercize for that reason.

Be sure you're cutting down on the fats in your diet. You need healthy fats like olive oil, nuts, fatty fish, but those foods also contain calories that need to be counted in your overall daily intake. Stay away from high glycemic foods like white flour, white sugar, starches like corn and green beans and potatoes. Include whole grains and of course lots of fruits and veggies in your diet. Cut out trans fats and partially hydrogenated oils.

Your best bet it to get close to your ideal body weight and walk at least 4 times a week, at least 30-40 minutes at a pretty good pace. Good luck!

You should consult with a nutritist b/c maybe what you think is healthy is not. Dont give up cause you need excerise regardless of the weight... have you tried to sweat off the weight such as getting one of those black seat suites (they look like a garbage bag). In your case or from what I see from biggest loser (not calling you a loser) is that these people work out to the max like some boot camp... You might need to get a personal trainer, and you might have to dish out some cash. But you are not at a heavy weight... so I dont think you'll have any problems losing the fat, think positive and be content! Oh and I learned from Oprah: eat a fist full of food. ex: rice should not be more then your fist, meat should not be more then your fist and salad should not be more then your fist... Good luck

When we want to get rid of body fat, there is no way to specifically burn fat from one part of the body. Doing situps won't burn the fat that is covering your abs and doing tricep extensions won't get rid of the fat that is covering your triceps. The only thing you can do is lose weight all around and eventually the problem area will also improve. The way to burn fat is through a calorie restricted diet in conjunction with an exercise routine that will burn calories. Activities that burn calories include running, biking, swimming and other high intensity activities.

As you age, your metabolism slows. You need to concentrate on foods and drinks that will raise your metabolism.
Just out of curiousity, I heard somewhere that sleep apnea can also cause weight gain. If you have problems sleeping and have headaches and are tired all the time, it might be something you might want to check into. This person had gained 100 pounds in 2 years and couldnt figure out why. She ended up with sleep apnea and when treated, lost 30 pounds so far.

Don't worry about your age, you are never to old to keep your body in perfect condition. To lose extra fat from your stomach area, follow the tips I have listed below.

1.Eliminate red meat from your diet, it stays inside of your body for over six days and causes belly fat.

2.Take Flax oil, it flushes your body of toxins and excess weight

3.Drink 8 to 12 Glasses of water

4.Go for a walk on your lunch break. If you are unable to fit it in, walk when you come home from work with your family or friend.

5.Drink 2- 3 cups of green tea per day it is a metabolism booster.

6.Eat five to six smaller meals per day. Eating breakfast is extremely important.

7. Eat grapefruit and citrus fruit they can natural help you eliminate body fat.

8. Go to the library or bookstore and check out a book on rhythmic breathing exercises. This can help you lose that stubborn belly fat by increasing fat oxidation and causing muscle contractions in your stomach.

Although, these tips will help, I can tell you that when you are trying to lose weight, you will need something to fight the food cravings, burn excess fat, keep your mind and will focused, stay motivated, and feel fulfilled. When my patients come in for nutrition advice, I reccomend the B4A Extreme Weight Loss System. The system includes Hoodia and Soy Protein Supplements to suppress your appetite.
