Must appease enemy and make all losses and sacrifices in Iraq be in vain, so they can win the election in 2008, because being in power, is more important than what you do to your country, even if it's just to be aVichy type government taking orders from Bejing or Moscow.

We call it politics, with the Dems in control of Congress and the White House is in the hands of the Republicans. Because of the war in Iraq then two sides have gotten to the point that they want things going their way.

As to what Americans want, well that goes with what has been interpreted by polls and the parties. I have never been asked, so they think they know what I feel over the war.

I have the opinion that they have been fighting too long to put their heads together and come up with a plan which is middle ground and not punish the people caught in the middle, those on the battlefield.

Probably because the fact is that with each increase in federal funding and regulation for k-12 schools dropout rates increase. And liberals say just spend more on programs that are not working will solve the problem. And it is not just the dems Bush though no child left behind was a good thing with massive democratic support too are we in a better place?.

You are correct it is political posturing for the democratic anti-war base. There is no way the democrats will really cut the funding because they know they would be run out of D.C. on a rail. But they have a very vocal an well funded anti-war group in their base that wants exactly that. So, they are showboating for them.

They have had to load the bill up with pork projects to bribe heir own members' to vote for it. Many democrats don't want to vote for this pig of a bill, either.

They will keep this up for a few more times until time is really run out then they will present the president something he can sign. They hope they can keep stringing their base along by claiming they really tried and will continue to try.

Vampire 1 has a very bad case of Selective Memory Syndrome. Hey Vamp, bite this. If you had listened to all of our President's message you would discover he stated the funding would have to come from other sources. Now, that hasn't been defined yet but I'll bet you a 6-pack of Billy Beer some of the Dems programs get a bad case of hiccups and then watch the goofy left scramble to kiss GWB's royal A$$.

The Democratic majority in the House and Senate right now is just setting themselves up to be remembered with serious hate. I'm about to print out a mugshot of Pelosi and set it up on my dartboard here shortly.

It also bears asking why, when the Republicans controlled both chambers for years and years, why they didn't do the sensible thing in a time of war and raise taxes, issue war bonds, and increase defense spending to where it needs to be, so we couldn't get screwed like this.

If there so obcessed with playing games with our troops lives, they should just pass a bill bringing them home, or shut up. Oh I forgot, they can't get enough votes. Just funding, no timetables, get it. It's a very simple concept. It's called doing the right thing.

Why don't conservatives stop playing games with military funding?
The American People have spoken: Congress is no longer controlled by Republicans.

I agree most strongly! I think that our elected government should make that choice. Not to mention the people who side with this war are wealthy. The people who pay more on taxes should vote.

no... it's more that they would rather play childish games. they never do anything constructive. including voting pro-segregation. they were also against the abolishment of slavery.

they hate bush so much that they would rather cut funding to our troops and let them die without proper resources than just let it go.
