when trying to argue against any scientific theory of existence contradicting creation. this is that time is just a measurement created by man and its not a force of reality, when in fact the very opposite is true. now you may say, oh so we chanced upon this, well, yes and no. the reason we measure time the way we do is just how things are, it could have been measured any number of ways but idk its just measured in minutes and hours and days and years. more to the point any one making the claim against this should know light can't go faster that 3x10^8 m/s so if a laser beam is bouncing between two mirrors in a space ship to a person on the ground it is moving horizontally and vertically in the same amount of time that it is just moving vertically for the person in the space ship, since speed cannot be changing time must therefore be relative, this is the basis of the theory of relativity, any questions now christians, and others feel free to email me.

to all who answered and asked where the question was it is at the end, now im not trying to disprove anyones faith im just trying to educate people into using better arguments for themeselves instead of flimsy things which they have no idea about, so the question was do you have any questions for me because i would seriously like every one to understand this concept.

Well, I'm smarter than some, and dumber than others - you sound like one of the 'others'.

I'm going to send you an email, because I like to be edumacated (seriously) - but I have one quick question in response to your comments - if my arguments aren't up to speed (almost a pun!), does that change the fact that truth is unchanging? Seeking truth, no matter how illogical the thought process, is honorable. And, no matter how illogical the argument, truth may still be found.

I will humbly shoot you an e-mail, and am interested in developing sound reasoning. God bless you my friend.

Where is the question?

Your relativity example, though, is flawed. The light beam moving between two mirrors does so regardless of where the observer is in relation to the mirrors. Even if the beam "looks to be travelling in multible directions. it is still travelling the same distance at the same speed because the mirror distance doesn't change.

This actually brings up a second flaw in your statement. You failed to mention the very important concept of how the RELATIVE DISTANCE between the mirrors changes as relative to the position or distance of the observer to the mirrors. As distance of the observer increases from the mirrors the relative distance between mirrors goes down therefore the light can travel in both directions you mentioned in the same amount of time.

But how does this contradict creation by God?

Nice try, NEXT. :-)

I am a Christian and I have never heard anyone use "time is just a measurement created by man and its not a force of reality," as an argument against scientific theory. What is the point?

God created time, space and matter i.e. the universe. God created the universe in six days from the perspective of a man on earth. Since God is infinite and exists outside of time who is to say that it wasn't six billion years or six minutes.

The old earth new earth argument continues among people of faith but does not impact Christian doctrine of salvation.

Time only exists on the physical plane though, because it is the only plane where we require a frame of reference for the decay of physical objects. Before we measured time in minutes seconds etc we measured it by the days and cycles of the stars and moon. Plus the theory of relativity is based within a vacuum, atmosphere and gravitational forces would effect the beam.

God created the dimension we know as time so that we could learn cause and effect, so, if we go against God then we know what sin is. We could have learned what sin is without going against God, and then time wouldn't be part of life. Why it happened the way it did is because iniquity was found within the anointed cherub and when that iniquity is consumed then there will be no more time. Those who are bound in sin will be consumed perpetually unless they repent and turn back to God before they die and/or before he returns to judge the world. There is time now to accept the free gift of eternal life in the presence of the God who is love and who desires that none perish.

,In R&S?

Yes it is a universal trait of humans to measure time, and speed, and distance.

And this has been done various ways over the eons.

do not be to sure on the speed of light thing -

If an object is moving at light speed or above and has a light within - is this light still moving C?

Traveling faster than light may have to do with manipulating time.

And what we may percieve may not be percieved the same way by God or haven't you read about time:

"But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day."

I personally don't see that science contradicts creation. If it did, I would have to change what I believe.
