If you are only talking Pacific BRAND bikes then the above answers are correct.

You would do better for yourself to look at the way the bikes are built and how they are equipped rather than look at the name, however, since most brands are built in just a handful of factories regardless of what name finally appears on them.

However, Pacific Cycle also has some mighty good bikes including brand names that are found in bike shops AND in Walmart/Target, so just going by the name is not a good idea.

A little detail if you wish...

When Pacific became the largest seller of bicycles in the U.S. they decided to implement what is called "cradle to grave" marketing. This suggests that if a person purchases a Mongoose brand bike (for example) when they are young they tend to buy that same brand again and again. Same thing goes with toothpaste and shampoo.

Pacific Cycles bikes, depending on where you get them, are of comparable (or sometimes even better) quality and value than their competing bretheren.

Pacific, Schwinn, Mongoose, Roadmaster and other brands are all Pacific products.

Unfortunately, Pacific is not a very reputable brand of bike. They are sold in Toy and discount stores like Walmart. These bikes are of inferior quality and are assembled by untrained stockroom staff. When I worked in a shop, I cannot tell you how many people came in with brand new bikes from Walmart needed reassembly or adjustment. The money they spent w ith us basically took away any savings they thought they might achieve.

No, Pacific bikes are sold by Wal-Mart and other non-bike shops. They are like Huffys, and therefore are not REAL bicycles.

Do yourself a favor and seek out a true bicycle shop for your needs. Not only will you get a bike in your size (something Pacific doesn't do), but it will be lighter, stronger, smoother, and come with a service contract and a warranty.
