With the way the Bible is written you can use it as a pro and con on almost any subject. Does the Bible tell the feelings of people of that time, or was it meant to always be how people are to do things through out time? The end of times takes place on this planet constantly as people die. Their world has come to an end, so everyday is the end.
Now we Pagans party like it is 1999. We enjoy life without trying to hurt anyone or anything. We are conservationist of the ecology. We are warriors for peace and we only want to make sure that we haven't damaged this planet more than we could. Think of all those people who come after us who might like to breath, drink the water and eat.. So before anyone lives their lives worried only about whether they attain heaven or not, just think what the future generations will say about yours and what you were too busy doing philosophically to take time to physically make this land better for them.
Things that are more important than heaven:
land conservation, population control, air polution, water polution, over fishing the oceans, alternative fuels and energy...

yes. the Bible gives signs of the end times, and so far, a lot of the predictions have come true. similar to how there are signs for seasons (i.e.: in autumn leaves change color) so when you see the signs, you know the time is near.
I suggest you read Daniel, the Gospels, and Revalations to find out more. but basically, the church will be taken away by God, there will be a new world order (run by the antichrist) for seven years where great peril will come (called the tribulation period), then God will rule for 1000 years, then Satan will rally an army against God and the battle of armegeddon will ensue, after the battle Heaven and Earth will pass away. New ones'll come.

2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Zacharias, the father of John the baptist, was mute till the day that John was born, signifying the four hundred years that God had not spoken to Israel.
God is speaking to us today in these last days by his son. He is coming to judge the world and those who do not love the truth will perish in the melting elements.
edit:
When you repent and are baptized and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit you are able to discern the spirits. You will know who is speaking the truth and who is not.

I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses and we base all our beliefs straight from God's Word the Bible. And yes, according to the Bible we have been living in the last days for some time now. Armageddon is near, but it does not mean the end of the world - it is the time when God will destroy the wicked here on Earth. If you have questions, just ask the Witness you know, they can show you the proof from your own copy of the Bible.

The bible doesnt say that the world is going to end but that the present world conditions will soon end. Thats why when you say the lords prayer you say 'thy kingdom come , thy will be done on Earth as it is in heaven'. It is true that Jehovah's witnesses have mistakenly predicted this time in the past but firstly that doesnt mean that its not going to happen and secondly even Jesus' disciples mistakenly thought that Jesus was going to become king at that time. As for DAVID J's answer i will let the bible have the final say.....2peter3;3-4.. For YOU know this first, that in the last days there will come ridiculers with their ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires and saying: “Where is this promised presence of his? Why, from the day our forefathers fell asleep [in death], all things are continuing exactly as from creation’s beginning.”

There still is the age of Christ that will happen. That is around 1000 years. That happens after the wrath of God is poured out.
I believe the Rapture, the Christians are out of here & that will let the antichrist to happen. Then God's wrath poured on those who destroy Gods creation, then the age of Christ. Then the heavens & earth sped away from those before God at the Great White Throne Judgment. Rev. 20.

It is nearing the time of the Lord's second coming. The Bible talks in Revelations (last book of the Bible) about the signs of the times such as wars and rumors of wars, you'll not know the seasons except by the budding of the trees (depending on what state you live in but here in Oklahoma we had a 75 degree Christmas). Yes this world will soon pass away.

You asked a lot of questions to be answered all at once. First of all, the Bible says even Jesus doesn't know when. But we will know the season because of the prophesies.
The difference between other Christians and JW's is they do not believe Jesus if the Son of God. So that would actually make them not Christian. However, they do believe in God.

We read in the Bible that will see signs and wonders indicating the time is soon, such as, wars and rumours of war, famine, children will show no respect for their parents, people will act as without conscience and selfishness like in Sodom and Gomorrah. We will see catastrophes in weather etc..
In the end, the Bible tells us only God knows the appointed time for the world to end; even Jesus declared only God know the appointed time. Despite not knowing the time, we should prepare ourselves for the possibility, not by living the life in selfishness partying and drinking and running around...
We should live our lives as if the end could be tomorrow by choosing to follow Jesus and live accordingly..
What shall it profit a man if he should gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?"

II Peter 3:3-4, TLB. "First, I want to remind you that in the last days there will come scoffers who will do every wrong they can think of, and laugh at the truth. This will be their line of argument: ‘So Jesus promised to come back, did He? Then where is He? He'll never come! Why, as far back as anyone can remember everything has remained exactly as it was since the first day of creation.'"
I John 2:18, TLB. "Dear children, this world's last hour has come. You have heard about the Antichrist who is coming—the one who is against Christ—and already many such persons have appeared. This makes us all the more certain that the end of the world is near."
Matthew 24:14, NIV. "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."
Matthew 24:23-24, NIV. "At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!' or ‘There He is!' do not believe it. For false Christ's and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible."
Matthew 24:29-30, NIV. "Immediately after the distress of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory."
II Timothy 3:1-5, NIV. "But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them."
Daniel 12:4, TLB. "But Daniel, keep this prophecy a secret; seal it up so that it will not be understood until the end times, when travel and education shall be vastly increased!"
Luke 21:25-26, NIV. "There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken."
I Thessalonians 5:2-3, NIV. "For you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, ‘Peace and safety,' destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape."
Matthew 24:42-44, TLB. "So be prepared, for you don't know what day your Lord is coming. Just as a man can prevent trouble from thieves by keeping watch for them, so you can avoid trouble by always being ready for My unannounced return."
