There was evidence of WMD. Just because the evidence went out when we went in doesn't mean they don't exist. The scary thing is that they went to Syria. And Syria is cohoots with Iran. And you saw Alqida nerve gas pour animals on the news. So? This is something we do need to pray about.

Well I for one would much rather waste a good day physically helping people who need help and working to get our troops back from this war of oppression. Iraq had no WMD and they didn't have anything to do with terrorists and there is no amount of wasted breath that you produce that will physically change any of this.

Did it occur to you that this country might have avoided terrorist attacks if the terrorists thought that this country and its drive to Christian theocracy wasn't a threat to other countries and other religions. As a member of an alternative religion I am thankful that we finally decided to take a stand and make this country admit that it has discriminated against other religions by taking the VA almost to court to approve the Pentacle for the symbol of faith for Pagans and Wiccans. Our warriors going to fought for their country only to be denied the symbol of faith that they fought to preserve for all Americans.

My prayer is, do something creative with your time and don't waste your breath protecting people in battle when you could force an end to it!

Yes, prayer is good.

What would be even better is a feed the hungry day where we made a big drive for food banks and got the ball started.
How ashamed we will be when we find out that there was enough money in the world to annihilate poverty and hunger if only the blessed would have given only 10% to solve it all.

background of the national Day of Prayer there have been numerous national days of prayer interior the U.S. till now the day became into made respected in 1952. The Continental Congress issued an afternoon of prayer in 1775 to designate "a time for prayer in forming a clean usa". Thomas Jefferson argued even with the undeniable fact that, that besides the undeniable fact that individual non secular agencies had the the final option to designate an afternoon of prayer, the U.S. government don't have that perfect. Pray that your god won't tell your president to invade any more countries based on false intel - that would have saved the lives of over 3000 soldiers (more than the number of people that died sep 11).

I've learned tospeak the language of the R&S Christians.

"nation" = USA.

"God" = Christian god.

On a world wide web, in a religious section, it's really, really a sign of respect to others to at least specify what country and which god you're talking about. Really.

I'm an atheist, I don't pray. I've never heard of a 'day of prayer', but I'm sure your president is the type of guy that actually could have signed for such nonsense. Wich is truly scary in a country that is supposed to have freedom of religion.

i think if you pray everyday that's all we as a country needs. it's a pretty sad state to think that the gov't has to tell this great nation when to pray.

of course maybe that's what has happened to it in the last 50 years.
