Well, there were no Christ killers if you get right down to it--Jesus wasn't killed or murdered because of those people you refer to. They get no blame, nor any credit. He GAVE His life for us-that's why He came in the first place. As far as being sad and terrible, it was that indeed. I would feel sad and terrible to see any person-or animal-treated in such a cruel way. What is even sadder is that after what Jesus suffered for all mankind, many deny and mock Him. He knew they would, yet He did it anyway. And besides all that, He had done nothing to deserve punishment and death--we are the sinners, we deserve it. He took our punishment so we wouldn't have to. Who else do you know who would do that? Only God--out of love.

Yeah. I can see what you mean. And so if your kid dies you are happy, because you have one less mouth to feed. And your kid that died should be smiling upon his last breath because you wont have to trouble yourself for him.
When you talk about your children dying so that you wont have to trouble yourself with them, you make it seem like such a terrible thing that they died. However, if they hadn't died, think of the consequences. Would the mother be the same? What if they had lived to bury you? Besides, they know you had to do this for them. People still die for causes today, and none for such an important one.

Hi nice atheist. I understand what you are saying. I am not angry
with the the "Christ killers", because I am one of them. My sins
put Christ on the cross. But Christ gave His life willing to please the Father. The Father could not look at sin and let sin
into heaven. So, Christ became sin and all the punishment was
dumped on Him for all of mankind. I am happy that the Lord
Jesus Christ did that for me. I like you and I don't want to try
to change you or anyone. I know what's true for me and I know
Jesus Christ is very personal. Example: I've been praying about a situation in my life and I was going over certain verses my pastor taught on, well one thing lead to another and
I found this verse that spoke to my heart and I cross-indexed
all these other verses that had to do with my prayer. I didn't
need to talk to any human about it, it was all answered in the
Scriptures. This is how personal my God is. I attend a small
prayer group and we pray for all sorts of stuff and tonight
I decided to really pray for all the non-believers on R&S. So
we'll see what happens. Your friend on R&S. It's okay if you
guys make fun of me. I don't mind.

He fulfilled His purpose as the Lamb of God and God knowing the hearts and nature of man knew that they would kill Him. Jesus could have said " NO" because He also had the free will to choose whether to obey or not. But He chose to obey God the Father's will, thus giving us all the opportunity to be reconcilled to God. Christians are sad because He had to suffer though He didn't deserve it. But that was the sacrifice He made and we gratefully receive it.
Whenever we love someone, it is painful to see them suffer. How much more painful to see or be reminded that He who was pure and without sin, deserving no punishment bore our sins and punishment. We are all sinners, and we are all to blame for the need for His sacrifice. The Christ-Killers is all mankind not just a group of men. If Christ hadn't died, we would all be destined to live in eternal separation from God, His Light, Life, and Love and not one person could be good enough to make it into heaven, for we all fall short of His glory.

Some Christians do not understand that Jesus' death was part of the plan for salvation, which He did willingly out of His love for us.
So, to hate the Romans for crucifying Him, or the Jews for instigating it due to their perception of His alleged blasphemy, runs contrary to what we should feel.
We should rejoice that those who killed Him did so. Because if He hadn't died, He couldn't have risen and conquered death, thereby opening the door for all believers.
Many Christians erroneously adhere to what's called "replacement theology" which implies that the promises and blessings that God granted His chosen people, the Jews, somehow got transferred to the Gentile believers. Actually, the Jews are still God's chosen people and we label them "Christ killers" at our own peril.
Thank you for being a nice atheist, instead of a mean one. Do try to separate the belief system from the fallible, human, and sometimes misguided believers.

Well hello there nice atheist it's nice to meet you. My answer for your question is this. They shouldn't be 'praised' for killing Christ. They were simply doing what was set in order for them to do. Your right people die for causes even today and none for such an important one. You are correct that He knew He had to do it. He didn't want to as no one wants to go through all of the horrific pain that He did. But He said "no man takes my life, I lay it down." In otherwords He did it willingly and that makes me love Him even more so. Thank you for being so nice it's greatly appreciated.

I can see your point.
It is very true that through Christ's death, we receive life. And people shouldn't be mad at "Christ-killers," because, from a Christian perspective, we are all "Christ-killers." Jesus died on the cross because of my sin and because of your sin. We ALL put Him on that cross. We ALL had a part in killing Him. So people who are mad at the Jews for killing Jesus are hypocritical, in my opinion, because every single person on earth killed Jesus because of our sins.
People act like it was tragic that Jesus died because of guilt. Since our sins put Him on that cross, we are all responsible for the cruel and horrendous things that were done to Him. We feel bad that Someone had to suffer because of us. How much better it would have been if Eve had not eaten that fruit!

The ultimate Paradox. The worst thing men could have ever done...deicide....was also the greatest thing that could have ever happened for man's salvation. Also the ultimate example of; "Why does God let bad things happen to good people?" Answer; "Because a greater good will come from it." The crucifixion of Jesus Christ was a horrible thing, but look at the greater good that came from it.
Its a narrow view to see "Christ-killer" in the crowd. We all must assume our part in taking responsibility for what happened since the sacrifice was made for all of us.
The disobedience in the Garden of Eden and the fallen nature of mankind killed Jesus. We all killed Jesus. I accept my responsibility because He did die for me.

I am not sad over Christ's death. It was necessary and He said so. I am not angry at Christ Killers. Jesus said He had the power to lay down His life and pick it back up again.
He did what He had planned before time began.

Its a sin to murder and a murderous heart
carried out gods work by killing an innocent
perfect Jew Jesus, so whoever believes thier aquitted by this act of sacrifice and turns from sin will not be in the judgement thats yet to come.
We wouldnt know that unless it was written,
and what was written has endured the test of time because it was written before it happened.
Thats why pilot isnt the hero.
