More advanced research methods have allowed scientists to classify species based on genetics, cellular morphology, and molecular chem. In the past, scientists were limited to classifying organisms according to morphology(physical/anatomy). Thanks to our current understanding, biologists today are able to revise the status of current species, and also to study the evolutionary relationships between species and groups of organisms
