(1) Castro out of power within weeks, if not months under a full Amercan invasion. Cuba didn't have the military then that it developed later, a battle-hardened force that fought all over Latin America and Angola. The USSR didn't have the strategic lift or combat assets to send its massive land army to such a distant destination at the time in the face of American air and naval might.
(2) Khurschev would have needed to maintain face, and the Politburo would have had his head if he didn't deliver a strong response. He would likely have reimposed a blockade on West Berlin or put the entire Warsaw Pact on full war footing. He would likely have ordered a few "provocations" - the shooting of border guards, scrambling strategic bombers, and other such incidents.
(3) Vietnam would have been a non-issue for the Kennedy administration. Responding to heightened Soviet aggression in Europe would have taken MUCH higher priority. Regardless of whether World War 3 had actually kicked off and the Red Army charged across the Fulda Gap, Vietnam would have never had the importance it did for Kennedy that it actually had in history.

I doubt we would have initially invaded during the missile crisis. Most likely we would have used Navy and Air Force bombers forces then would have invaded after knowing all soviet missile sites had been destroyed. If we would of invaded my opinion is that Castro no longer would be head of the Cuban government. My concern would be what the Soviet reaction would have been as times were tense at that time...I was 13 and remember it vividly. I think an invasion by us of Cuba would of caused the Soviets to react in Europe by invading western Germany and taking all of Berlin and maybe launching a first strike against the US if Soviet advisors were killed during our air strikes. But an invasion would have started in my opinion a chain reaction of events that probably could not be recalled once they started. I am glas cooler heads like President Kennedy prevailed! Good question BTW!

Most Americans are unaware that the US had a far greater number of nuclear weapons in Western Europe particularly Turkey that were just as close to the great cities of the USSR as the Cuban ones were to us, we were the first to base offensive nuclear systems that close. The USSR felt threatened, if not for the boyish Kennedy charm we could easily found ourselves at war w. a country much better able to take the attrition of all out war and vastly more likely to win. NB if not for Kennedy Nixon might not have allowed our military to place our nukes so provocatively in the first place.

I think Castro would have been out, and no way the USSR would have attacked us. That would have been suicide. We had WAY more nukes than they did. In fact, had the order been given to attck Cuba, the USA may have ALSO ordered the launch of the missles in Turkey which MAY have cut the head off of the USSR, and maybe we would have won without even receiving one nuke hit. That would have been wishful thinking though.

Castro would be out. Cuba would be a resort area, and we would not have so many Cuban "refugees" over here drawing welfare.

I say if you look at it realistically we they were not firing they
would not fire if they did they could destroy a few cities but we would fire back and we would fire back and fourth until we were both died and the rest of the world will live on.But
they know that would happen so they just use them to try to frighten the U.S. so they would admit defeat. Also we could had blown them died before they would even dare to fire
