As a bible student who has studied the Bible, I would recommend 2 stories. 1. The Good Samaritan ( Matt25:31-46) and 2. The Shepherd Boy ( 1 Samuel 10:2). The first story speaks of caring about one another and the second tells us that God can use anyone.

Really, it doesn't matter what you read to infants. It's all about the tone of your voice when they're really young.

I don't think that stories of mass genocide (Noah) or a wrathful plague-sending god (story of Moses & the exodus) or a man cursing a fig tree, killing a bunch of pigs by sending demons into them, and then getting executed for political reasons (should be obvious, really) would be good though. Doesn't the FCC get really annoyed about allowing kids to be exposed to violence? Must follow the orders of the censors, now--that book clearly needs a parental warning sticker.

Yes, we are to read Bible stories to our children, and we are to tell them about the love of Jesus, of HIs gentileness, and kindness. So many out there to pick from. As they grow up knowing about Jesus, they will be more able to appreciate Him for all He was, and want to be like Him. Thats the point. And they becomde loving ,kind, gentle, forgiving ppl also, if they belive and obey God. Go to the Christian bookstore, and buy the little books of Bible stories from them, they are so awesome. Even before they are old enough to understand, they still will find peace in those stoires, as those stories are about the peace and joy and love of God.

Read them the parts that describe how you are supposed to properly treat other people. Especially the part about treating other people the way you would want to be treated. Don't focus too much on all those genocidal, infanticidal, mass-murdering stories.

Not a story but everything that Yeshuah stands for. Read 1 Corinthian Chapter 13 (all of it). Read that every day to your infant and yourself; both of you will become AWESOME PEOPLE. Peace and Love.

Leviticus!

Lots of cool rules, like burying your feces a certain way.

Also, learning how to have burnt offerings will benefit the infant.

To top it off, cool execution laws for dirty women!

Carl Sagan's the cosmos. Or a brief history in time. Don't brainwash the infant.

Well... if you start at the beginning, you can cover murder, incest, revenge, jealousy, impersonation, how to fool god, talking snakes, and genocide... all in Genesis alone.

Who wouldn't want their infant to hear all that!

*end sarcasm*
