complex carbs - old fashioned oatmeal, whole wheat bread (pita, wraps, regular), brown and wild rice, whole wheat pasta, buckwheat, potato (baked) etc
and fruit like apples, pears, oranges, grapefruit, berries, mangoes, grapes (not much - they are high in sugar), melons, pineapple etc
protein - lean meat (skinless chicken, turkey), fish, beans, lentils, soy products, cottage cheese, ff yogurts
get fiber also from veggies like broccoli, spinach, cauliflower, eggplant, cucumbers, celery, asparagus, paprika, onions, carrots, lettuce (romaine), beets, zucchini, cabbage etc.
also you can use pan spray for cooking (instead of oil)
choose ff low calorie dressings instead of creamy, calorie loaded ones
ff milk, ff 60cal puddings, low fat popcorn, some cereals (look for low sugar and fat, more fiber and protein)

No point giving you a list. Better to give some guidelines:
Cook your own meals - you will know exactly what is in them.
Use fresh ingredients - they will taste better and require less fat, salt etc.
Eat plenty of fruit - makes a great snack, it also is relatively guilt free
Drink plenty of water - help the body process everything.
Try to limit your intake of saturated fats (butter, etc). Use olive oil where possible.
Try to avoid hi-carb foods - white sugar, white bread etc. There are plenty of healthy alternatives to almost everything out there. For example, for bread I eat wholegrain, for sugar i use fruit sugar (Fruisana) when baking - it has a lower Gi and is sweeter than normal sugar.
Thai stir frys and Indian curries are often a good place to start looking for recipes, they are flavorful and can be made with a minimum of unhealthy extras.
Sticking to this sort of plan and with a little exercise, I think most people could get through life without bothering to diet.
