There is no such thing as a perfect anything! Mothers, like everyone have flaws. All a person, Mother or otherwise, can do is thier best. The closest you can come is too: Love without limits, forgive without condition and learn from mistakes!

No one can live up to the definition of perfection because we're all human and subject to human frailties. Most moms do the best they can with what they know but they love deeply and unselfishly as they watch their precious children become happy, healthy and productive members of society. When we expect our mothers to be perfect people we are only setting ourselves up for disappointment, disillusionment and anger. Please don't do this and don't believe the portrayals of parenthood you see in the media because it is nothing more than make-believe. Acceptance is the key to contentment in most healthy families and I pray that you can accept your mom just as she is without trying to change her into someone she can never truly become and I hope that expression of love is a mutual reality in the lives of both you and your mother.

caring, compassionate, knows when to draw the line, is prepared to be lenient, has a sense of humour, is a good role model, doesn't let her kids drink when underage, is welcoming, sets restrictions on certain things but can move them if the situation needs it, promotes healthy eating and excercise and getting out of the house/off the computer, does fun things as a family together, does small things like give surprises to show she cares, takes an interest in her kids life but doesn't shadow the kid everywhere and is always open for a hug :)

My mother was the perfect mother. She was loving, generous with her time and talents and required us to challenge ourselves. She raised strong, supportive, loving children into adulthood. Then let them extend their wings and experience all life had to offer. I never doubted myself, we all have high morals, self esteem, and a strong work ethic.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING. A MOTHER USUALLY DOES THE BEST SHE CAN DO. DON'T COMPARE ONE MOTHER AGAINST ANOTHER BECAUSE THEY ARE IN TWO DIFFERENT YARDS WITH DIFFERENT ISSUES.
I USED TO THINK MY MOTHER WASN'T A GOOD MOTHER BECAUSE SHE WOULDN'T DO THE THINGS I SAW ONE OF MY FRIEND'S MOTHER DOING. LOOKING FURTHER INTO MY FRIEND'S YARD I SAW THAT HER MOTHER DIDN'T DO THE THINGS MY MOTHER DID. BOTH WERE GOOD PARENTS.
