I was asked to attend a birthday party, and bring a gift, for my mother's second husband's first wife's boyfriend. Another time I was asked to have dinner with my father's second and third wives' children from their previous marriages, so they could complain about my father after their mothers' left him. Has anyone else had family that would not go away? My family wants me to accept their cast offs, and I just want to get on with my life. Anyone else?

Hey I have my current husband living with me and my 3 children from a previous marriage with their father renting a room in my house. He shares some meals with us every day almost holiday's and we are never alone because he is always around. He is a loser and can't live on his own because he gets evicted every 3 -4 months. He has no family here so we are stuck with him for now. So you don't have it as bad. Soon you will be able to live your own life and be done with them all so look forward to that time.

Hi! It is best that whaen you are bothered by other company you don't make yourself easily avalable this way your not wallowed in the muck and the myer. Unfortunately there isn't much you can do with the family and the problems they may have only you can change by not attending and, move away to another place.
good luck,
LS

My family is not quite that whack - please do go on with your life and skip their dramas.

Like a soap opera - sounds like you can skip a few episodes and not miss anything important.
