Just took my first Lexapro two hours ago. Not supposed to work for 2 weeks. Past the horrible nausea. Now my mind just hurts. I'm bewildered now. Confused. Sad. Disconnected. Help!

One of the biggest side effects of Lexapro is nausea.
I used Wellbutrin for 1 month and then my doctor switched me to Lexapro and it was horrible. I felt like i was taking sugar pills. All the good effect of the Wellbutrin completely went away and I felt exactly the same way I did before i started taking anything. I didn't personally have a good experience with Lexapro.

You should call your pharmacist to see what you can do to help reduce the nausea. Usually taking it with some crackers could help.

Are you taking anything else with Lexapro? Because I was on Lexapro and I never felt that way. I know meds affect everyone different, but you shouldn't be feeling like that. And why are you not supposed to work for 2 weeks? I started taking Lexapro and went to school at the same time...

"One thing I did find, which makes Lexapro stand out among all the meds we discuss here: if the early side effects suck, just move on. Really, don't stick it out. Apparently Lexapro turns out to be no better than placebo with bad side effects. Not mild side effects, just really suck-*** ones."

Initial side-effects can go away with time. I would keep on it.

That being said, Lexapro didn't work for me and I had negative sexual side-effects, too.

Now I'm on 10 mg of Abilify which not only works, but has no side-effects for me.

could be a reaction to the meds or just a coincidence. really no way of telling until you try again.call your doc or pharmasist for the lowdown on side affects and possible negative reactions.you can also check the package insert that came with the meds.

Starting new medication can be tough, and the way you are feeling now might be an expected reaction. Only way to find out is to call your doctor tomorrow morning (before taking another dose) and see what they think.

For now, just try to relax.
Wishing you all the best.
