How are people getting 5,000? I keep getting 4,100. Either that or 100,040,100,030,100,020,100,010...but if this is a riddle, then there must be some twist...right?
But if there isn't one...4090+10 is 4100...not 5,000. It's not 40+10 and 90+10...it's just 4090+10. Try rearranging it. take all of the 1000s and add those together. You should get 4000. Now add 40, 30, 20, and 10 together. You should get 100. Add 4000 to 100 to get 4,100.

WOW. That's amazing! and so funny too. I'm so puzzled as to how people come up with 5000 when the answer is in fact 4100. I actually tried figuring it out by reading again but I keep getting 4100 on my head.
