There are several things that can cause pain and pressure in the back of the head, but it sounds to me that you are suffering from tension headaches. You can take an over the counter pain medication such as Motrin and that may help, just becareful, taking medicine for every headache can result in rebound headaches. Of course, if you are worried that it could be something more serious than a headache, call you doc!

There is no medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.
Acidity, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis,
Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 100% success proves it.
Acupuncture is the best treatment. I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.
But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it isvery strong.

well i guess that It would but that is probably not your problem because you wouldn't have typed this. Your neck and trapizodial muscles are really tight. Your head is conected by several muscles and if those are tired then you could be suffering from headaches. It is called a tension headache. This is best solved by advil or ibeprofen(sp), these will relax your neck and shoulders and relieve your headaches

A pinched or compressed nerve could possibly do this. The only way to find out for sure is to see your dr to have them evaluate the situation to see what they think could be going on.

I have this problem and my GP says that its because of stress and over thinking. also there is nerve that you can feel on the left side of the neck (behind and under the head) - that tenses up.
