I'm not saying all atheists are boring/smart and I'm not saying all Christians are witty/fun, but if you were forced to choose from those two options... which one and why?

Oy, it's not a contradictory question. Christians can be smart and smart people can be boring. It's a hypothetical, come on!

How shallow I am? It's a hypothetical about personality traits and beliefs! I'm not saying "A hot Italian or an ugly Austalian!"

I could ask Christians, but why would you want to befriend somebody who was boring and had different fundamental beliefs. If I were Christian I'd choose a witty fun Christian over a boring atheist. If I wanted to befriend an atheist I'd hold out for a fun one.

I noticed a pattern:
1. **MOST** atheists would choose a witty/fun Christian over a boring/smart atheist while **MOST** Christians would choose a boring/smart Christian over a witty/fun atheist.
It seems like personality is more important to atheists while beliefs are more important to Christians when it comes to interacting with people. Now, that's kind of a stretch (it's not equal to the questions I have asked), but it seems like that is what is implied.
2. An atheist is okay leaving a Christian to be Christian, but a Christian is more likely to try to convert the atheist. This seems mainly because a Christian wouldn't want their best friend to go to hell, while an atheist doesn't have the added pressure of worrying for their friend's immortal soul so they are less likely to press the issue of religion and free to just have a good time. This can be a burden to Christians with an atheist friend, except that it is a burden of love and doing God's work, so I think it makes them happy.

The witty and fun Christian. Not only would they be witty/fun, but I'd also get to argue with them. It's a win-win.

A boring/smart atheist. Why? Because I already have MANY witty fun Christian friends, they are hilarious and they understand me even though I'm an atheist. But I have NEVER had an atheist friend, and sometimes, I can be boring as well. We'd get along just fine and agree on many things. So there.

well, dog_sneeze penguin pride is definitely a witty/fun christian. So, if i had him as a choice to hang out with, I'd go with him over a boring atheist.. but dog_sneeze is also very smart.. I haven't met someone who was witty and not smart.
I have met smart but not witty people before.

It depends.
I would enjoy hanging out with the Christian, as long as he or she didn't push their beliefs onto me.
And, I would enjoy having in-depth conversations with the atheist.
I suppose it would depend on my mood- Not what the people believe in.
Anyone who would choose the Christian because they're Christian, or the Atheist because they're Atheist, are just ridiculous. There is no reason to favor one person over another just because they believe the same thing as you.
Hitler claimed to be Christian.
The KKK claim to be Christian.
Just because they claim to be the same religion as you, doesn't mean they're a good person.

Witty and fun wins out everyday. Eventually my christian friends quit telling me I'm going to hell and accept me for who I am.

This one's a no-brainer - witty fun people are more enjoyable to spend time with than boring people, regardless of race, religion or political orientation.

Is it obvious he/she is a christian? Will she be constantly trying to convert me? Will she be harping on me because I'm not a christian and constantly trying to "save" me?
If the answer to any of the above is even an implied 'yes', then I'll go with the atheist.
