What do you feed you're great dane?

What kind of food do you feed your great dane? and how much?

Stay away from store brands such as IAMS/Eukanuba, Pedigree, Purina, Science Diet, etc.These have way too much cheap fillers in them as well as by products.They aren't healthy foods for any breed, especially Danes. You also don't want a food taht contains soy.Soy causes excess gas something you defiantely don't want in a breed prone to bloat.

Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's SOul large breed adult or regular adult, Canidae All Life Stages, Wellness, innova, Solid Gold, Merrick just ot name a few are all good quality foods and are all good foods for a Dane.
When feeding a Dane, especially if it is a growing Dane you want the protein level at 24% or lower.

Also Danes should be fed twice daily (all dogs should anyway)

I feed my Danes Canidae All Life Stages. They do great on it. My 36" adult (retired show)female Dane eats 4 cups per day divided into two meals...2 cups am, 2 cups pm..my 10 month old 32" 130# show boy gets 4 cups dry plus one can wet...2 cups, 1/2 can in am, 2 cups, 1/2 can pm. Both are at perfect weight for size and the boy is growing nice and slow like he should be. Their coats are fantastic, energy level is great.. Also only one firm poop per day per Dane.

It's a bit hard to say how much, that depends on his/her age and activity level.
I feed the best quality dry food. Most of the best brands ie: IAMS have a formula for large dogs. This formula contains glucosmine which helps build strong joints which is really important for large breeds. Be guided by the amounts on the bag or you can go to the websites and look it up there.

Pro Plan, has less fillers which means you may pay a lil more for the bag, but you will feed less than the cheap stuff and you will have LESS poop! lol Hey with a dog that big Its a big deal! Good luck
