My brother had O positive blood till 2002, but now when he checked with his doctor he told him that now his blood group has been changed to O negative and this happens to someone in hundreds, please reply me as i am worried about my brothers health.

Since the Rh factor (positive or negative) is controlled by a gene in the DNA, it's not logical for the blood to change this trait.

if the cross match (the blood test to determine blood group) was taken after he had 1. massive blood transfusion or 2. infusion of a type of IV fluid called dextrans, then the result may be wrong. otherwise i'm not aware of any causes of spontaneous change in blood group...

Sounds like nonsense to me!

I've never heard of a blood group changing.

He is probably a 'weak D', that wasn't caught in the process, or its clerical error. The sample should be redrawn and retested before making any conclusions.

what??? never heard of that... you had better consult with an expert. Perhaps one of his records is wrong/switched with someone elses?
