Depends on the dog. :) Really, it depends on your school. Ask whoever administers the program. They should be able to help.

As others have said, you might be able to help care for the dog of a person who is aged or disabled. Some nursing homes and hospitals use pet therapy -- using a pet for comfort. Those pets need care.

If you are really interested in doing pet/dog care for community service, the best option is to volunteer at the SPCA or other local animal shelter. These organizations are always looking for people to help care for and play with their animals. The idea is that an animal who is happy, and used to playing with people, will be a better pet. I've done this before, and it's very fun and rewarding.

Well if it is your dog well no. If you are helping a person that is handy cap or if your helping an eardly person then yes. Here is an idea if you want to us a dog. If you have a dog or if you could brow one from a friend take to a old peoples home or a hosiptal I bet you any thing that people will smile a lot. Ask your school if you can walk dogs for your community service it might work. If not good luck.

And what service are you performing for the community by walking a dog? I cannot think of any way it fits under that category. However, scooping all the poop people leave behind while walking their dogs may be considered a community service.

Not unless you do it for the SPCA, Human Society, or local animal shelter. Community service needs to be performed for a non-profit or government organization, for free.

Walking your dog or your neighbor's dog doesn't count. But helping out a local animal shelter would.

I really can't see how that could possibly be community service. Sorry.

Why don't you plant flowers at a local church or at your school? That's fun and you will get to be outside in the fresh air...

Good luck!

as long as it isn't your dog and your not getting paid for it. Community service is pretty much anything, you just can't recieve compensation. I mowed lawns for mine when I was in grade school.

Do what I did, have your parents lie! Have them fill out the paper and sign it say that you help out by cleaning your local park or helping your old neighbors or whatever. If you parents don't want to lie for you then your patents suck! Say that if they don't you will end up on the street. Long story short your life will be ruined.

How about doing something for a senior like mow yard, grocery shop, clean house... Walking a dog does not count. Please do something that will make a difference. Like be a big brother/sister at your local Y.......
