Some of us have odd superhero abilities; yours just happens to be attracting hot objects.
Seriously, though. I cook every single day, and I rarely burn myself. However, I do manage to cut myself (nothing serious, though) fairly frequently. Often, it's not even a knife that does the cutting!
I have very good knife skills, and I haven't cut myself WHILE using a knife in about ten years. But as soon as I try to wash anything sharp---food processor blades, graters, whatever---I manage to cut myself. I'm careful with the equipment WHILE I'm using it, but afterward my brain forgets the danger exists. In other words, I stop paying attention.
Your particular talent (lucky you) involves hot things, not sharp things.

Either you've got some psychological adversion to cooking, your oven mitts and pot holders need to be replaced, or you're cooking over too high of a temp.
Try replacing your oven mitts and pot holders with good heavy-duty ones. Use a spatter shield on skillets when you're frying, and keep the burner turned only as high as necessary. Be careful of steam burns, and keep your face and hands as far away from the food as possible.
Most of all, don't let yourself be distracted. Keep kids and pets out of the kitchen as much as possible, and concentrate on what you're doing. If the phone or the TV are distracting you, turn them off.
The kitchen is a hazardous place, and if you're going to stay safe, you've got to have high quality equipment to work with, but most of all, you have to stay focused. Those two things will reduce a lot of kitchen cuts, burns, and accidents.

Any cook does that, and I mean everyone. You forget that the lid isn't heatproof, you're in a hurry, something. Or you get thta mentality that "Oh I can pull that bread out without a potholder!" And it doesn't work. I'm a good cook, just clumsy.

Maybe you're not paying attention. I used to burn the ends of my hair on the stove each time I boiled water. Everytime I looked in the pot, I didn't realize that my hair was touching the burner.
Make sure you can actually see what you're doing. Sometimes when you're holding food in your hand, it blocks the view of how close your hand is to the pan.

Have you heard of the law of attraction? You have told your subconscious that you will get burn, and so you will. You unknowingly set the intention, not that you wish it, but because you tell yourself, I am going to get burn.....the law of attraction works in accordance with your intent.
happy cooking without burns!
