Could it be possible that Non-Christians get a chance to accept Christ after they die?

Good question actually. My view, everyone will get what earned and deserved. whether they believe in God or not.

If for some strange reason God doesn't exist, those that believed really haven't lost anything. If God does exist, and everyone gets what they earned; then those that do believe in God will receive more then those that don't. What, and how much is up to him; but, we will all receive what rewards for what we deserve. "reap what you sow"

Dear midvei,

First of all yiou might want to read Matthew 7:21-23 in the Bible. There will be many people on Judgment Day who "thought" they were saved (christian), but in reality were not. The Bible tells us that they will not inherit the Kingdom of heaven. However, when an unsaved person dies they go to a place of silence. They cannot be condemned to hell because there has been no trial. God is perfectly just, so there must be a trial. Second, hell does not exist as a location at the present time. It will be created at the end of the world at the time of Judgment. Hell is also referred to in the Bible as the lake of fire. At the last day, all those who have died unsaved will be resurrected to stand for trail before the Lord (Revelation 20:11-15).

The one thing I must say is that God is no respector of persons. Because a person does not know if they are one of God's chosen (elect), the best thing to do is to read the Bible and cry out to the Lord for mercy (He is very merciful). The environment in which God saves people is under the hearing of God's word. Therefore, stay in the Bible.

Do you mean people that have rejected Christ? There is a difference between someone who calls themself a christian because they go to a certain church or because they are American or because their parents were christian or something like that and someone who has accepted Jesus as their Savior but perhaps has never stepped into a church or associated with an organized religion.

If you reject the free gift of salvation through the work of Jesus on the cross then you go to hell, eternally away from God. If you accept Jesus as Savior and trust in His work on the cross then you go to heaven to eternally be with God. It's that simple.

What matters is if that person knew of Christ and Christianity and conciously rejected Christ.

People such as Pacific Islanders, etc... that live in remote areas and never heard of religion and Christianity...never had the opportunity to become Christian, can still obtain salvation by the Grace of God.

Only God knows the individual's heart and only God decides who goes to Heaven or Hell.

I'll be frank and detailed, because I know most Christians are afraid to answer such a... blunt question.

The day Jesus comes again, the Tribulation will begin. This is a seven-year period in which all the Christians will be brought to heaven, and the rest will stay on Earth for... an uncertain amount of time. Seven plagues and disasters will be unleashed from heaven to earth, and one-third of everything will be destroyed. Then, those who still have not become believers will go to hell.

I know that sounds incredibly insane... but if you want to verify what I've said, take a look at the book of Revalations, at the end of a Bible.

Well I can't water it down. Anyone who dies without Christ will be sent to Hell. Not because they didn't believe in Christ, or never heard of Him, but because they have sinned, broken God's Moral Law (The 10 Commandments). 1 John 3:4 says that "sin is transgression of the Law", and we have all sinned. Only those that have repented of our sins and put our faith in Christ will be forgiven. It is our duty as Christians to preach the gospel, and reach out to those who are not saved. If we truly love our neighbor and care about them, then that is exactly what we will be doing.

When I asked this same question the answers I got all indicated that god will send them to hell because they had the chance to be saved but chose otherwise. Even the people who were entirely ignorant of civilization in the world or unable to hear a message because somehow they have been communicated to by a spirit of some sort or through nature.

Every theologian since the beginning of Christianity has tried to do this. The Bible itself says that such people go to Hell, which is a place where God is absent. Since God is the Source of all Good and Life, these people are left only with the bad. Hence, descriptions of fire, sulfur, darkness, burning, being eaten alive by worms, etc...all pictures of death, suffering, and also of despair: people are weeping, gnashing their teeth. This tells us something: when people go there, they are conscious, they understand, and they realize what they have lost (i.e. an eternity with the One Who is Good).

However, it also should be mentioned that such people do not go there as "victims." One does not go to Hell if one is innocent. Of course, no person is innocent, for all have sinned, but Hell would just be a magnification of all the sins of Earth, and nothing good of Earth remaining.

Have you read C.S. Lewis' "The Great Divorce"? It states the concept of the disjoint between Heaven and Hell very well.

That being said, i adhere to the quote from Lewis: "There are two sorts of people in this world, those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, 'Fine, have it your own way!'" Which is to say, when a person goes to Hell, they personally chose to walk off the cliff, and because God allows for free will (none can love without it), He must likewise allow people to leave Him for good.

If they had a chance to accept Jesus, but refused, they await the day of judgment. They will be sent to hell. I'm not God. If they never heard about Jesus, then they will be judged according to what they knew in their hearts about right and wrong.*

Revelation 20:15
If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

-The names in the book of life, are the names of those who are saved in Jesus Christ- who are born again in His Spirit.
They receive the eternal kingdom of Heaven, where they will reign with the Lord forever and ever: John 3:3 says "Unless you are born again you cannot see the kingdom of God"

The wages of sin is death- Romans 6:23, in Revelation the lake of fire is the "second death" --where all souls go who did not believe in Christ, who rejected His salvation.
The Bible describes it as torment, for the beast and the false prophet are first thrown there, and it says they will be tormented day and night.
