"God is love.He is kind but He is also Just. You are going to be in hell only if you do not choose Jesus and heaven. "

ok ,a human would normally live like about 80-90 years...and if,within that lifetime,he doesn't believe in God,he's going to burn in hell for ETERNITY??? is that what we know as just?

i got this mail sometime back about how in iran,a little boy had stolen a piece of bread.the punishment was that his arm was to be crushed under a vehicle...is that just?

isn't the punishment supposed to fit the crime?how can it be "just" to send a person EVEN if he didn't believe to hell to burn in all eternity?

We don't know. No one has been back to tell us. No one truly knows the answer to your question.

"is that what we know as just?"

So what are you asking? If you are you asking if God is just based on a secular (Mill, Locke, the foundation of most of our laws) philosophy, then why does it surprise you that God's justice isn't what you'd expect?

This doesn't refute the claim that the punishment ought to fit the crime. Indeed, the bible is full of examples of crimes and appropriate levels of punishment (see most of the old testament laws), so there is at least some precedent for God issuing punishments according to desert.

Also, you are saying that God sends people(apparently undeserving people) to an eternal hell. But we make a choice here on earth to be either for or against God. If we have chosen against God, then wouldn't it be just for God to grant us our wish and allow us to be eternally separated from him?

I hope it's a little clearer now that this isn't a one-liner issue. Our conception of just is in many ways limited, and we should be aware of those limitations before we start declaring what is 'just.'

In Love...

It is just because the way to heaven is free you just need Jesus. Everyone gets a clear chance to accept or reject Christ and His free gift of eternal life in heaven. The other option is hell, a place where God will not be. This is chosen by the individual. No one goes to hell by accident. They make a choice or at least refuse to make a choice which in itself is a choice. God has made it clear in creation even if the gospel was never preached. Don't blame God if you end up in hell. You didn't want Him around and He gave you what you wanted.

Don't blame a God. Man has given a God his own personality including his ability to do atrocious acts. Like I say God has no voice of his own. Only man speak for God. What you read in the bible are the rants and raves of men that can do horrendous acts upon other men.

Unconditional love would do such things to any human. A truly good man would not have wasted his time writing a bible because he as no desire to enslave other men. Only the evil and wicked would produce such material that would mislead other men into believing a fictitious God that would punish you for making your own choices.

OK, first, the little boy had his arm crushed by a person, not God, though, yes, God allowed it to happen. God has a plan that we may not understand, but if God is love, than justice is a part of it. Second, despite what you may hear, I don't believe that someone who doesn't choose Jesus goes to hell. I don't believe that "good Jews," for example, go to hell. I once heard a priest say that we don't know what happens after someone dies and perhaps they are converted afterward, but before they go before God.

Yes. He is Just. He will do exactly what He says He will do That is Just.

I believe that Hell is going to be done with. I believe that heaven is forever.

He says in His Word that Jesus is the only way to the Father's house. He will not change that. He loves us. He wants us all with Him, but only if we choose to be with Him.

As we have a lot of choices what comes to this life here, but what comes to eternity, there is only two choices: hell and heaven. And you get to choose. : )

You answered your own question.

"Is that what WE know as just?"
What do we know? Who are we to be questioning our creator? We don't know what is just or not, were just humans, everyone make mistakes. In a human mind it might be just because that's how your programed.

And you need to understand that were in AMERICA... America is so so different than any other country in the world. Even though its awesome to live here, we only know half of what its like to be persecuted. To be "just" is up for interpretation... like for instance on a lower more "American" scale, is it just to spank your children? Some would say yes and some would say no. It depends on your opinion.

Ok think about it this way...

Its like a child:

You tell a child why not too do something, they do it, you tell them again not too do it, they do it again...are you going to punish your child?

and if in this 80-90 yrs (hypothetically like there is a god, and everyone knows it) God shows them things, helps them, and they still deny him...

Do you think that person even deserves a chance??

for the little boy it sure is unjust, because he is only a little boy and was trying to find food. it is abominable to mutilate his body for that purpose...

However, living on earth all your life and continously ignoring life is choosing death and eternal loss... It is so easy to accept salvation because God must punish sin.. Hell is an indication of how much God hates sin.. salvation is indication how much God loves sinners..

I've come straight from another question like this so please forgive me if am a little short. Did God suggest the little boy's arm be crushed? (No). Is God responsible for other people's wrongdoing? (No). Is it God's responsibility that people won't accept Jesus' words and act on them? (No). Its your choice whether you accept Jesus or not - don't make other people's actions an excuse, they get it wrong like the rest of us.

Everyone struggles with the same question. The punishment should fit the crime, yet I know God is good. It is a moral dilemma and I cannot help you with it.
