I have a shih-Tuz that is 45 days preg. And when I took her to the vet she gave her heartwarm med's and Flea med's. I as was just worried because every thing I read say not to give them thier shots if thier preg. so I was just wondering if that is the same for these..

Well the best person to ask would be the person at the vets office and if they are the one that gave it to her I would assume it to be okay. Why didn't you ask when the vet was giving the medication or call another vets office and ask them

any vaccinations should not be given while pregnant as the adult's body can handle it but the puppies might not be able to. as for heatworm and flea preventatives they should be safe enough. it's impossible to overdose on heartworm meds and flea and tick shouldn't hurt the pups either. you can always call your vet and ask to make sure, they won't charge you for the question, or at least shouldn't.

Pregnant dogs need to be dewormed and defleaed to sto the pups having fleas and worms.

So long as the vet knew she was pregnant(!) he will have given her the correct, safe medicine.

There are plenty of veterinary medicines safe for pregnant dogs - it's only the pet shop crapola that is dangerous.

Front line is ok to use for a pregnant dam. Heart worm is also.

yes if she is wormed while pregers pups will not have worms when born.
