Paladin,
The devil LOVES
secular humanism!
He wants to take God out of everything...including religion. But, WHO WOULD FALL FOR THAT NONSENCE!?!

Take your requests to the feet of our King, Jesus Christ. He is waiting!

An earthly "national" day of prayer ignores the fact that a Christian's first allegiance is a heavenly government, God's Messianic Kingdom by Christ Jesus.

Jehovah's Witnesses believe that true Christians are "no part of this world". Thus, Witnesses pursue NEUTRALITY in political, nationalistic, and social controversy. The bible quite plainly teaches that Jesus himself refused to become involved in the secular controversies of his day, but instead devoted himself to preaching the "good news of the Kingdom".

The benefits of that Kingdom are permanent, while every human work can only benefit temporarily.

(John 17:14-16) The world has hated [the followers of Christ], because they are no part of the world, just as I am no part of the world. ...They are no part of the world, just as I [Jesus] am no part of the world.

(James 4:4) Adulteresses, do you not know that the friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever, therefore, wants to be a friend of the world is constituting himself an enemy of God.

(John 12:7,8,48-50) . . .Jesus said: “...You have the poor always with you, but me you will not have always. ...The word that I have spoken is what will judge [a person] in the last day; because I have not spoken out of my own impulse, but the Father himself who sent me has given me a commandment as to what to tell and what to speak. Also, I know that his commandment means everlasting life.

A national day for doing a ritual that produces no results what so ever, but to waste time?

Nothing fails with 100% consistency like prayer.

Sure you have lots of answered prayers. Lets see if you can provide empirical evidence these so called answered prayers were answered by your god or just coincidence. Lets see the evidence.

Not one of those links shows that prayers were answered by god. That link that says prayer has some affect on the ill is not a scientific study.

Whoops a fraud study that claimed prayer helps.

You still have not one single shred of evidence that proves god answers prayers or that he is real.

"Praying" is a scam invented by the Romans who invented christianity to control their slaves for them (90% of the population in 313AD). The Romans wanted their slaves to act as robotic zombies, and "praying" was a scam to keep them from assuming they could think for themselves. There are many scams and terrors built into christianity to cause slaves to think that they could not think. All "good" thoughts were put there by god, all "bad" thoughts were put there by satan. No human could ever have an original thought, etc. Therefore, no slave could ever think of escape (bad thought). Learn more at: http://www.angeloftruth.com

If you ever have a conversation with god, it will be he who starts it, you cannot conmmand his attention at will. There are six billion other people out there begging him for a new Mercedes. Get in line.

And for those who do not pray, it's also the National Day of Reason. http://www.nationaldayofreason.org/ I hope both my neighbors of faith and my fellow nontheists make good use of the day. Many atheists will be donating blood tomorrow. Members of my Humanist community will join them. http://www.atheistvolunteers.org/

> The devil LOVES secular humanism!

I know you believe that, and I respect your right to believe it. I, of course, don't believe in a devil, but I do believe in helping my fellow man. You believe prayer has value and accomplishes good things; I don't, so I prefer to give blood tomorrow.
