Believe it or not, when I was in 5th grade, I had hair falling in clumps for some unknown reason, and an uncle of mine (an internal med md) recommended I use plain, unscented Ivory soap on my head! Not sure how he knew that but it worked! I'm guessing its the neutral pH that stabilized existing hair roots to stay and empty roots to replenish. I would avoid OTC hair regrowth shampoos - too harsh.

I lost all my hair from chemo, and it is taking its' own sweet time coming back.
Eat really well - lean protein, whole grains, lots of fruit and veggies. Take a good multivitamin/mineral every day [many trace vits and minerals have a profound effect on hair/skin.]
Don't use wigs, or extensions - your hair is too fragile at this point. Don't pull it back with anything [barette, hairband, or hair tie,] either.
Which Nioxin did you try? I am now using #3, and after one month I am seeing great results!
Make sure you use the combo of cleanser-therapy-treatment for best results. The company rep said it takes 4-6 weeks
for good results.

Are you sure this is a result of the sepsis? Did you take cancer meds? My husband had septic arthritis and a staph infection that nearly killed him. His hair did not fall out.

One thing you could try that's made my hair grow faster and stronger, is Biotin. It's a vitamin you can get at drugstores rather cheaply.
