someone getting an abortion can get away with killing the unborn child but if someone kills a pregnant woman, that person is charged with first degree murder of the woman and the uunborn. what is the deal?

I agree completely. It is absurd. The government has to decide either a child in the womb is alive and killing it is murder or it is not. Currently it depends on if the child is wanted or not. It is murder to kill a fetus who is wanted but ok to kill one who is not. It does not make any sense. At this point I do not really care which side they choose but it is either a murder or not. They cannot continue to have it both ways forever.

Rest assured that no one is "getting away with it". They will be judged by God. In the meantime, I suggest that you continue to live with your God-given appreciation for life. Some people appear to have thrown away that appreciation or to have forgotten from whom it came.
