Just like the song says. Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers
Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers
Remember when you're talkin' to the man upstairs
That just because he doesn't answer doesn't mean he don't care
Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers

I thank God for everything why not for unanswered prayer? At this moment I am in dire straits and praying like mad that God will sort things out. It's so bad for me that I am also praying that I am able to face tomorrow and not have dark thoughts. He is keeping me from myself and I pray he continues to do so..

every prayer is answered - just not the way we would hope it would be. Prayers should be said in faith that God will hear and answer in His time, and in His ability to do what is best for the asker.

Simply because in accordance to God- some things are not in our best interest at the time for reasoning that everything is in God's time and not that of our own.

Because part of our ancient minds fear that if we don't 'thank' god for NOT doing what we need 'he' may get nasty and dump on us BIG TIME!
Grow up and take responsibility for your life. If there is a super intellegent non-physical entity out there then, 1) IT (not he) ain't bothered about you, 2) IT is not that petty. Only we humans are as petty and nasty as the Christian version of God (although I expect other religions have crap gods too).

If I would have married my college sweetheart ... well I'd be married to a dude who got thrown in jail for violence ... Thank You God for not answering my prayer to get married to my college sweetheart.

When I prayed for something that, later on down the line, I see would have ended up not working out....at all....I have thanked God for saying "no" more than once.
