Can Beer Freeze

2016-11-04 21:41:29 · answer #2 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

Yes, beer can freeze, but does so at a lower temperature than water due to the alcohol in the product. Depending on the brand and alcohol level, the temperature will vary, but 28 degrees F is about the spot where most beer freezes. Once the beer has frozen, don't think of drinking it as it will not reconstitute itself into the same product.

Of coarse it can...altho it's more slushy than like a block of ice. It's a liquid and has very little alcohol content...now something like vodka cannot freeze. Also if you do freeze a beer make sure it's a can cuz bottles will explode

yes anything and everything can freeze. All Alcohol can freeze, its just that alcohol has a lower freezing temperature than water. But beer does not contain that much alcohol and has a lot of water in it so it freezes closer to the temp water freezes, than say vodka.

Yes.

Alcohol (ethanol) freezes at a much lower temperature than most other liquids. Most hard liquor will not freeze in the freezer because of its high alcohol concentration (Ex. Vodka = generally 40%). On the other hand, beer will almost always freeze because of its low concentration (app. 3-6%).

Heck with -5, it will freeze in your regular freezer. I've never had a bottle bust but I have had cans pop open. If you open a frozen can or bottle, it will foam all over the place and then it tastes flat, yuck. If you catch it in time and let it sit on the counter for a while until it is thawed before you open it, then it's fine.

Oh God yes! I tried to quick-chill some in a freezer at the restaurant once and forgot about them. BOOOM! God what a mess to clean up. And if you do a quick-chill, it can still turn into a slushie if you don't watch the timing.

In fact, I have one beer de-icing in the fridge right now.
