You just have to do it. Go to your Mom, she has to be understanding because she has gone through it as well. If you need to talk it over with someone else first, go see your school nurse. She will also be able to give you some pads to get you through until you can get the nerve to talk to your parents. Basically, it is a part of life, and your parents have known since you were born that one day you would start your period. There is absolutely nothing to be worried or ashamed about. Good luck!

All women get their period eventually. Your parents are adults, so they already know that.
Ask your Mom to take you to the store because you need sanitary pads.
Remember, now that you have reached puberty, you are capable of becoming pregnant - read a book, go online, or ask your Mom any questions you have.
DO NOT ask your friends - many young girls have incorrect info about reproduction [ and even more young guys].

There is no reason to be scared! I told my mom the moment it happened, she was sad her baby girl was growing up. I didn't tell my dad, but I'm pretty sure my mom told him. He came home from work and just gave me a big hug, didn't say anything. Are you afraid your parents will make a big deal about it? I've heard of some mothers having a "period party" for their daughter but I just find that plain rude. There is nothing wrong with having your period, it's healthy and normal. Welcome to womanhood!

Go straight to your mom and tell her you need to talk, girl-to-girl.
She should be understanding enough to help you out...although there are those moms that just freak out on these things, but if you keep your cool, you'll be fine.
This is all a natural part of a womans body.

dont be scared. but you do need to tell you mom, dads really dont wanna hear that kind of stuff unless there isnt a mom involved. or maybe if you have an older sister whom has already experienced it, talk to her. im pretty sure you'll get the confidence but you do need to tell somebody.

You can do it!!!! Don't worry, everyone does it. Just tell your mom. If not wait untill you first one is over. After be "like oh yeah, mom I had my period a while ago...... " It's okay to do it. Everyone will have to. If you want to ask a friend to borrow some pads... (if she has had hers) and just use them. Good luck!~!!!!
:-) and at first it's hard but after a while it's okay!

Tell your Mom that you need to know all about pads and tampons because you just started. She will understand.
