First she's been to her doctor, and they are running test. This is whats going on today her blood pressure was 158/107 which its been higher, and her pulse was 132. She's in alot of pain now, which is not normal for her. Its in her lower back and she went to the hospital, they gave her darvaset and she's gone through almost the whole prescription already because of the pain. They just found out that her thyroid levels are at 100 something when they should be at 40 and so they are going to start her on synthroid. She's on cardizam, and that was just recently raised, and they've also put her on another pill for blood pressure, but that was a week ago and its not coming down. You can see it in her face, how bad she's feeling. I'm worried alot about her, if they're are any doctors that might have an idea of what she might be going through, please let me know, so she can get control over her BP and pulse.
Other information, she does have diabetes, but its only reaching a high of maybe 158

Thank you Dougie, her doctor is still running test, and she's starting on new meds. So far no change, but your suggestions have been helpful, I was not aware of the ace-inhibitor but I will tell my mom about it. Did I mention she has heart disease, emphazima and diabetes? She sounds a mess, but the thing is she tries to stay active so I don't know what to do to help her. but thank you very much

Hello Kellie and Mom
I am not a Doctor, but a Registered Nurse : You aren't getting any medical advice, so I'll give it a shot for You over there in Michigan (a neighbor).
There are several striking things going on here : I'll start at the most inportant.
1. Weight: Every thing that is going on with your Mom is tied to her weight: Her back pain, diabetes and high blood .pressure would all get better with a weight reduction. Certainly, straightening out her thyroid (the master gland) will give her a chance at ths.
2. Cardizem : For hypertension: I can not stress this enough !!!!!!! If your Mom has any tendencies toward diabetes, she should have an "ACE Inhibitor" in her treatment plan. This has long been established . Not only will it help control her blood pressure but preserve her kidney function: There are many different products available.
3. Back pain: Not all the info that would be useful, but her weight is suggestive. Back pain is the number one disability due to pain issues. There are many causes , so I won't venture a guess: Not at all uncommon to be treated with an anti-inflammatory in addittion to darvocet:(contains Tylenol )She has to be careful not to take addittional meds with tylenol in them (potential liver and kidney damage).
There are many options for pain control and should contact her physician if her pain control isn't adequate and contributing to her high blood pressure..Don't take "no" for an answer !!!! Muscle anti-spamotics can be very helpfull early on and will help her rest/sleep better. (very important) Ask for a physical therapy evaluation : This, at least will promote more exersize and strengthening of her back mucsles.
Resting the back isn't as frequently recomended as it used to be. Experience tells us that continued movement brings about recovery faster. Avoid sitting or sleeping with her legs straight........this pulls on back muscles quite abit.
Does she have a return appointment ?
Keep us posted.
Hopes this helps.

14 years old? That's what is wrong with kids these days. Having sex is not just for birthdays and celebrations. As of right now, you're still 13 and that's pretty young to be having sex and thinking about it. You're probably not even going to last with him, sex should be about love for when you're older, like 17. When you can meet people you're going to spend the rest of your life with. But no one can stop you. Get birth control, condoms, be safe and don't be stupid. STD's are some serious issues, and so are pregnancies and aborting innocent babies because you were too stupid to not wear a condom.

I would quess that your mothers bp is up due to the pain she is feeling and from what you have said about the location of her pain I would be very concerned that she may be passing a kidney stone.

I'm sorry to hear about your mom, Kellie!

I'm not a doctor, but I have family members with heart and blood pressure problems. And sometimes- like with your mom- it's not easy to diagnose or rein in.

I will say a prayer for your mom and hope she feels better fast.
