Jesus says that if your hand offended you, then cut it off or if your eye offended you, then gouge it out. I know that He is speaking figuratively. However, I believe that Hell is a very terrible place. There are no words to describe its horrors. Everyone who is there would do anything to get out (though this is not possible according to scripture). Do you think that those who are in Hell right are wishing that they had literally cut off their hand or pluck out one of their eyes if these parts of the body had caused them to sin and land them in their current predicament. Do you think that these people, had they known what was in store for them would have literally cut off one of their hands or plucked out one of their eyes while they were still alive. I only want people who believe in Jesus to answer please.

Yes, they would do anything. It would be better to be in a fire on earth for all eternity than to be in Hell a second, perhaps. There just is no way to describe it adequately. It is forever, with no hope of getting out. People there would be better off never born.

God has said in the Quran:

Those who have disbelieved and died in disbelief, the earth full of gold would not be accepted from any of them if one offered it as a ransom. They will have a painful punishment, and they will have no helpers. (Quran, 3:91)

So, this life is our only chance to win Paradise and to escape from Hellfire, because if someone dies in disbelief, he will not have another chance to come back to this world to believe. As God has said in the Quran about what is going to happen for the unbelievers on the Day of Judgment:

If you could but see when they are set before the Fire (Hell) and say, “Would that we might return (to the world)! Then we would not reject the verses of our Lord, but we would be of the believers!” (Quran, 6:27)

But no one will have this second opportunity.

The Prophet Muhammad said: {The happiest man in the world of those doomed to the Fire (Hell) on the Day of Judgment will be dipped in the Fire once. Then he will be asked, “Son of Adam, did you ever see any good? Did you ever experience any blessing?” So he will say, “No, by God, O Lord!”}1

The literal disfigurement of the body will keep no one out of hell. You are correct in that Jesus was not being literal. He was talking about sin, for it is sin that sends people to hell. The most damning sins that we come into contact with are those of sight and physical sensation, that is the sexual sins. Those in hell will have regrets, but these regrets will do them no good.

Well I believe hell is an imaginary place. If God can't understand why some people might not believe in him..since you know, he hasn't actually shown up anywhere for everyone to see...then he must not be very smart.

they don't believe that human beings have an immortal spirit it really is part of their soul. yet they do believe the soul is having God interior of themselves. So after lack of existence they believe human beings now not exist, because there is not any immortal spirit (Hell is a person-pleasant grave). yet do not tell them this yet even as Jesus died upon the bypass He gave up His spirit.

Thank God I don't believe in hell and will never have to make that decision.

Hell doesn't exist. But if it did the answer would likely be yes.
