What is the difference between category 8D and 8E on Carnival Liberty? I know it's extended, but by how much? Have you ever stayed on deck 10? How does it differ from other decks aside from being higher on the ship?

The Liberty is a Conquest class ship.

The designation of 8A, 8B, 8C, 8D and 8E are the codes for balcony cabins..

8A being on Deck 6 - The Upper
8B being on Deck 7 - Empress
8C being on Deck 8 - Verahdah
8D being on Deck 9 - Lido
8E being on Deck 10 - Panorama

Since Deck 10 has less cabins, you would have less people traffic but there is only 1 elevator bank so you have limited choices on moving. You are only 1 deck away from the Lido deck (pool and casual dining) but 5 decks away from the main entertainment deck (Promenade 5) and 6 and 7 decks away from the main dining room.

I recommend an 8C located in the forward of the ship. or an 8B located in the rear of the ship.

Avoid 8A since these cabins are located over Deck 5 if you are not a night owl. Tjhese cabins are located over the theater, clubs, casino, etc.

You don't spend much time in your cabin. Sleep, shower and change clothes.

Call 800-CARNIVAL and request the cruise vacations book. There is a great diagram of the ship's layout

You need to go to the Carnival cruise line web site and find the Liberty ship and then read what it says are the square feet of these two cabin categories. My bet is you will not notice the difference; unless one is an outside cabin and the other is a balcony cabin.
