im thinking about purchasing a 98 mustang. The previous owners where an older couple the engine is clean the oil need to be changed the Automatic tranny is good. everything seems to be running great. the Cost of the car is 5500 that inclueds tax and licens. mileage on the car is 103117. No smoke in exsaust and starts up with no hesitation. only while running it seems to me like the belt or pullies might be squeaking there is a high pitched ring comming from the area. thats the only think i found wrong so far. only i dont know about recalls or anything like that yet. So is it a good buy?

You really should take it to a Ford mechanic and have him look at.

I own a 94 GT with 80,000 on it. Due mainly to me doing local driving in a small town.

They are very solid cars and cheap to repair and maintain.

Their strength to me is they are devoid of all of the technology sensors and computers which drive modern cars.

The cars are fine, what goes wrong and expensive to fix are the sensors and computers. How weird is that?

The car is OK, but the thing that's supposed to tell you when something goes wrong is the thing that always needs fixed.

personally, i'd say dont take it. unless you like the 98 style over the 99-04. in 99 they implemented all kinds of engine upgrades that added about 30 hp. if you look on autotrader or something you can find a 99 for that much if not less. my buddy just bought a 99 for 4500 and its in good shape and only 80000 miles. your not necessarily getting ripped off but you can definitely do better.

till the GT had some aftermarket equipment then they ought to in positive condition. the ameliorations between a GT and a V6 are contained in the engine mutually with something else of the stress prepare and outer body parts that are further on. the wide-spread automobile body factors are practically continually an similar.
