Because they are believers and have strong faith so they believe you are wrong and have faith that you will follow them.
It is annoying and they wonder why they get bashed and criticized in massive venues such as this. The questioning that is presented to them here is the same thing that every atheist experiences often if they live in a deeply religious area, in a place like this the religious sect gets yanked out of there holy than thou community and is exposed to different view points.

I agree! I am catholic, and I still get a lot of crap from other faiths (especially Christians!) Didn't Jesus teach us to love one another? Wasn't he friend with Mary magdalene, who was a sinner and speculated to be a prostitute. Everyone sins, and I can respect to hear about your faith, but when u try to "save me" and say I'"m gonna go to hell. THat's God's decision.
Good luck! I think anyone can get to heaven if they live a good life-with or without God.

I agree with one of the last ones...about them still respecting you but caring about your soul. Being Jesus with skin on is what we have been called to do, to be used by Christ so that HE may save you from the pits of Hell. I'll be praying for you and all the others that agree with you. God Bless!

First, Christians cannot save you. Only Christ can do that. Secondly, just because you don't believe in hell doesn't mean you won't end up there. Hell's existence is not conducive to your believing in it. The only reason that Christians keep trying to get you to believe in Christ and God is because they DON'T want you to go to hell. They are not being disrespectful of your beliefs; they are being concerned about your soul.

its not a matter of thinking we can save the unsaved but a matter of wanting to do so. when you have something so great you want to share with everyone. besides it is a commandment to Jesus to not lose any of his people and as christians we try to be like Jesus so this commandement applies to us. be very happy that someone presents the idea of eternal salvation. because God can turn his back on you.
lastly if you have no personal beliefs you are bound to believe any crazy thoughts.

As so well stated by others, Christians do not save you, only Jesus can save. We spread His Word as we are commanded to do. We do not mean disrespect and our concern is real. If you really don't want to hear about it why are you on a religion site? You should go where your interests are that way you won't feel disrespected.

It's not so much a matter of thinking they can as it is thinking they SHOULD. They think it's their God given duty. Many of them think that they'll earn brownie points with their magical sky God if they scam others into joining their overgrown Jesus cult. Some also have pity for us non-believers. They think they have something that we want. They don't understand that most non-believers have been there, done that, and got the **** out as soon as we possibly could, and are much, much, much happier for it, too.

Yeah I know. The other day, this girl just found out I was an atheist and she told me I was going to hell. Funny.....I don't believe in hell. She thinks that scares me.

It can get annoying, but most really are just trying to do what their faith tells them to. They feel they have found something good and want to share it with everyone.
It only offends me when they get too insistent or won't respect that I don't want what they have.

You are very very very right! That's fanaticism..and that is always bad.Anyone has the right to believe in anything he wants and makes him feel good and true to him/herself.Even if that is nothing. That's manipulation these christians are doing.Hell and heaven is inside us and where we are has to do with us.with our actions, with the relationship with ourselves-how true we are to ourselves and not hypocrites who pretend to know the "ultimate truth"..So try not to listen to them..Not argue with them either bcause that won't have any result than to make you mad..
