In most cases, any weight loss is from combining exercise and adjusting eating habits. Your exercise routine would have to be very intense to lose weight without changing your eating habits. Walking between 4 and 5 miles a day at a good pace, and planning out meals has worked for me. It's also easier on your body than running or sit-ups. Weight gain, specifically in the mid section, is often related to stress. When you start exercising, your body will start to want healthier food. Healthier food can also help you deal with stress. Good luck and good for you for trying.

sit ups will build muscle which makes the area look even bigger since there is gona be more muscle underneath the layer of fat.
cardio is what really works for losing weight, 4-6 times a week for 30-50min.
since we cant choose which areas to lose the weight off it just has to be overall weight loss, so do your cardio and watch what you eat.
