I need some tough questions to ask a (very) smart Christian philosopher that would challenge him and cause him to think deeper. i.e. Is homosexuality an inborn trait or do they choose to be that way?
Any questions along that line of thought that have to deal with God and man (although not nesecarily homosexuals).
Thx

People, I don't care about the homosexuality question right now. I need different questions to ask this philosopher.

Learned Behavior! If U ask todays "Learned Scientists" they will tell U what Scripture has been saying all along, there is NO ONE BORN Homosexual!!! Our bodies are however born Physically Alive & Spiritually Dead, indubed with the "Old Sin Nature" which is passed on through the "Male" genetic coding! Our bodies are also born Physically Flawed now, where as until mans sin in the Garden, man & woman enjoyed Eternal Life! Interesting choice of Ur word "Trait", n., distinguishing characteristic. I site as an example some people who are born with a "Port Wine Stain" somewhere on their bodies. Does this mean they have to live a certain way??? NO, just like a ball player being left handed doesn't mean he has to bat or throw exclusivly with his left hand! We are what we want to be even when handicapped in some way. That is why we are at the Top of the Food Chain, adaptability!!! All of Life is a choice, some chose Eternal Life by Believing in Christ & some chose Death into an Eternity of suffering & torment. John

Since God calls it sin, it cannot be an inborn trait. Therefore, it is a choice. Saying animals act that way is a cop-out. We are above animals since we are created in the image of God.

If homosexuality is to be thought of as a sin, does that mean that our souls are gender specific?
If man is in God's image, and nobody saved God, why do we need Jesus to save us?
If a soul enters at the moment of conception, but twins don't form till a week later, do they have half of a soul?

I already thought deeper and found the answer, guess where?
God isn't concerned about the feelings you have. He's concerned whether you give into them or not. Since God made your soul and not your perosnal hormones, if they're messed up, that's one more biological obstacle you have to overcome. Like a straight Christian has to fight having sex with their boyfriend/girlfriend, a homosexual Christian has to fight the urge to commit acts of homosexuality.
Sin is really giving into wrong urges. 'we sin when we are drawn away from our own lusts and entices'.
Sin has 3 levels: believing contrary to God's instructions, condoning sin, and practicing sin. One level is still wrong. So a person who has homosexual urges or desires who believes its wrong, doesn't condone it or practice it, is fine in God's opinion.
Why is it wrong? it goes against God's design, especially for marriage and healthy sexual/romantic relationships, for the soul, spirit and body. homosexuality is akin to pre-marital sex, adultery, fornication, beastiality.... all sins really. To defy God is to insult Him, question His omniscience and His moral integrity.
God condemns no one. you condemn yourself. God still (agape) loves those 'born' homosexual, but still cannot stand sin. Once you are sin free, God has no problem with you.

Think of it this way.
Animals also commit homosexual acts. It is not unnatural if you consider natural something done in the state of nature.
Then again, health care, government, and organized religion are all unnatural: not found in the state of nature.

They choose to be that way. Just like people choose to be intolerant to us Christians.
