That is a common myth that is only partially true, they just used 7 as an average for the time most people wake/sleep, but some people (like me) don't even wake up till late morning so 7 is still the middle of the day. I believe the correct time to stop eating is three hours before your planned bedtime. This gives your stomach enough time to digest so any food you eat doesn't sit in your stomach all night.

Not necessarily. Eating more calories in a day than you burn will make you gain weight. Eating foods high in simple carbohydrates at night will signal your body to store more calories as fat, especially late at night. However, the time of day is relatively irrelevant overall to weight gain.

No it won't
People tend to eat MORE at dinner then they eat at lunch or breakfast. Since they eat more at dinner, their total calories intake sum up and don't have a chance to be exited (since after dinner people seldom do tiring activities). The key is not to skip dinner but to have the same amount of foods throughout the day.

depends what you eat... its better to eat junk food earlier so you have a chance to burn off the calories before you go to sleep (your metabolism slows way down while sleeping). but eating light after 6 or 7 is fine.

it doesnt really matter what time of the day you eat, you are not gona gain weight as long as you burn as much as consume (calories) during the day.
just try not to eat a couple hours before bed.

no, they only reason people say that is usually because people go to bed after those times. if you excercise it off the next day or during the night, it shouldnt be a problem.
