If it is your SS # or you know that the EIN # is valid, then you can sign it.

Signing a W-9 form is just like signing a tax return. You are certifying that the number is valid and assigned to the person or company named on the form under penalty of perjury.

I signed the W-9s that were sent to my company.

The person who writes the SSN, EIN or TIN on the form signs it.
