Major con: neverending playbacks of the Village People singing "In the Navy".

Can't think of any cons other than being deployed on a ship for months. All pro's and great looking uniforms to boot!

do you want to lead, or do you want to work on the equipment? plenty of people with advanced degrees who are enlisted and perfectly happy doing it.

Besides, it depends on the Community. SWOs eat their young, but Some of the other communities are wide open for advancement.
