they are fun to use, eliminate critters like red squirrels and chipmunks from your yard(i killed over 30 chipmunks last summer), and you can hunt with them. can they possibly get any better????

Love them, and to those people who go on and on about how they kill people, I say this again, A gun is merely a tool which can be used to kill someone yes, but it can also be used to save someones life, and to just have fun with. I just feel alot safer with a gun near me then without aswell.

As a former machinist I have a great appreciation for the mechanics of firearms. I enjoy shooting several times a week, and work part time at my range as line officer. I also have a great deal of respect for firearms because they are potentially deadly tools if carelessy handled and/or used. Safety HAS to be priority one, always remember a firearm, whether loaded or not, is NEVER to be treated like a toy.

Actually, I like target shooting and no chipmunk ever destroyed my yard, heh. I like the little critters of the universe, call me sentimental, but I would rather hunt people than animals, at least docile animals anyway. A human makes a choice to be deserving of death, what did the chipmunks do to you? Still, I like venison, so I am a bit of a hypocrite, heh.

Boker_magnum and covie killer 5------GREAT ANSWERS! Perfectly stated. Very little I can add. I will, however, put a woman's spin on it.....My husband and I enjoy hunting together and going to the range together. I used to be so scared of guns, but he has helped me to see that with care, caution, respect and a level head, you can have a safe, productive and fun time with guns. They help us to put meat in the freezer, we bond together while hunting or at the range, and I know that if I ever NEEDED to protect myself or our kids, I could do it. I don't know who was more proud when I killed my first deer, me or my husband. He still brags on me because I killed 2 does within 5 minutes of each other.

Yes I do love guns. But guns in the hand of the wrong person can lead to problems . I use my guns to hunt and shoot with in a safe manner and respect for those who don't care for them. But we should also remember the men and woman who carried and used guns and other weapons for our right of freedom.

They are tools. They have a purpose and mechanically they are pretty nifty, used correctly they are effective.
although I do like sporting clays when I can get out, I tried high powered rifle, accuracy was pretty good but just am not physically able to do it fast enough, would love to compete nationally but it won't happen.
