First of all you must know that eating 3 times (at regular hours) is very important.
Secondly sleeping less than 8 hours is bad for your figure, it makes you want to eat more snacks etc since you stay up late, you get hungry and your metabolism works very badly: *if you eat while your body is trying to burn fat (happens while you are [or should be] sleeping, the fat you eat then, gets stored as excess fat and it s hard to get rid of that one XD*
Thirdly water (+green tea) and fruit are very purifying so try drinking at least 1 liter water/day and eat fruit 3 times/day after every meal or as a snack, especially in the morning.
In short: eat 3 times/day, get more sleep, drink water and eat more fruit
****************************************************************
that was the important part, and now, the tips:
- try to reduce 1/4 of the portion you normally eat.
- watch out for meat: meat is vital but some meat is fatter than others. serve more veggies on your plate and less fat meat like pork, beef etc.
- you can even replace fat meat with [fat-] fish. evenso, fish contains healthier fat so it s necessary
- put some diversity in the things you eat: try eating different things whenever it s possible
- if you love soft-drinks then choose the sugarfree drinks like the new zero range from coca cola (avoid coke)
- eat as much vegetables as you like except for pulse (= beans, peas etc.) just eat average
- eat as much fruit as you like except for bananas, avocadoes etc.
- take a walk or dance on your favorite songs for like a minimum of 20 minutes. whenever you can is good ^_^ but the more you do that the faster you will lose weight
- no fast food and less sugar (ok just eat a lot less of it and take a longer walk then XD) be smart when you go out to a restaurant
- if you feel like you re getting hungry, don't grab for cookies or other snacks: eat some fruit, make a salad with a toast, or make some fresh soup (drinking this before meals will reduce the biggest part of your hunger). just be creative
- you might want some chips, nuts etc. then always take ONLY a handful. it s enough. watch out, only once, don't turn it into a habit
- as for dairy products such as milk, eggs, cheese etc.: eggs have a lot of cholesterol, eat just 2 eggs per month. it s enough, try drinking 1 glass of semi-skimmed milk every morning (you can even replace it with fatfree youghurt, just to change), i hate light-cheese so i never eat it (it s like plastic XD) so just eat very little of that whenever you have it.
- chew slower, everything will taste a lot better.
- Never stay hungry, that s not the intention of this. But know that sometimes, especially when it s hot, you might feel hunger while your body is actually thirsting for water, remember that XD
- if you cook at home or if you go for groceries, always know what you buy. check for the nutritional value. Cook or have your mum or dad cook with vegetable oil like olive oil etc.
***************************************************************
If you want to keep up with this, think of it as if you're pampering your body, like you're taking a relaxing de-toxicating therapy and not a strict 1-week diet. Your body will be thankful: you will have more energy, you will go to the toilet regularly (IMPORTANT!) and most of all, you will feel and look much healthier. You will definately see results after each month if you follow the instructions well. I do this every day, so am sure you can too XD Have a nice trip

You could lose a good amount of weight by then. The issue is can you commit to the lifestyle? There are really no quick fixes.
In a nutshell: drink water, eat very healthy, no rewarding yourself with sweets, jog/run 2 hours morning and 2 hours in the evening, don't drink alcohol period (slows your metabolism), drink coffee or tea in the morning (not the sugary concoctions). Avoid quick fix stuff like thermogenic pills, they are stimulants - save your money and buy coffee or tea because it's pretty close to the same effect. Plenty of great info online, don't bother buying books. The idea is you need to get into action immediately and don't get led down the path of having to spend excessive money to lose weight. Really talk with your doctor and let her/him know what you are doing. Regarding exercise: get an ipod or something and jam that thing full of motivating playlists. If you get tired of running/jogging then hike, walk, play sports. You have to commit to doing this everyday though. Exercise is what is going to burn that 30 lbs. Nutrition helps but don't think that starving yourself is going to work. If you only commit to the starving path I guarantee you may lose a few lbs but your body will protest and you'll be scooping ice cream before you know it. Good luck and post and let us know how it turns out.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
Get started today!
